Okay, we're pretty much all aware the crimes of Bush, his administrationa and the GOP are so egregious as to practically defy comprehension. It's positively maddening to those who are following the events and almost understandably unimaginable to those who aren't. I think some folks are just flat out in shock and denial. Surely an American government cannot be THIS criminal.
But it is.
We have one minor hope on the horizon. Plan A. The mid-term elections could sweep in a Democratic congress and they could immediately start the investigation and impeachments. Granted, there's quite an assumption about the actions on the part of these Democrats, but lets focus on a Democratic majority at all.
I don't know about you, but I've got some doubts about Plan A. The GOP (Grossly Opportunistic Politicians) is well aware of the stakes and likely has even greater incentives to steal another election.
It's Wednesday, November 8, 2006 and our beloved free press, said with dripping sarcasm, reports the Republicans have maintained their majority hold over our legislature against polling numbers predicting a Democratic landslide. What next?
I do have hope this will not be the case, but I'm also one of those obnoxious people who like to be prepared and have ideas and options outlined in advance. I'd like a little brainstorming to see what is possible. Not everyone can march on Washington. What can we do, big and small, if we honestly feel the government was hijacked on Tuesday, November 7?

Call radio and television stations. Call newspapers. Write letters to the editor, especially to small newspapers where they are more likely to be printed. Call sitting elected officials. Organize protests, hound the media to cover them. And don't stop.
(Like I've ever done any of this. Ummm, well actually I have on a small scale. It frankly makes me nervous, because I don't like sticking my neck out. Heck of it is, I'm living in a time when I feel I have to.)
What did they do in Ukraine? It worked. What are they doing in Mexico? It's more than we've done so far.
I'm glad you brought this up, because I think another highjacking of the election is a probability, not just a possibility. They've got way too much to lose this time, and they have a lot of practice under their belts.
