Why take out Televison towers? Bush did the same thing. What |
|
is the main objective in doing this.
I'm just aksing. I really don't know.
I can understand why they'd take out the land and cell phones. I don't agree but I do understand it as a military objective.
Why take out the TeeV. Same reason?

12. So the world will not see what the military is doing. |
|
Same reason why they put newsmen with military and do not show coffins. Control of news. By the way has any one looked into stocks in coffins. Looks like it will be the new big buy on the worlds stock markets and we can thank Bloody Bush and our great military arms builders. That we do well. I am sure the cash that goes to Israel goes with strings of where they will buy the arms and I know they have strings on the money from their side. This picture just looks so bad for us in the world I think. I think we will have even more terrorist come at us now than ever before.

8. Depends what's being said. |
|
Al-Manar was big into promoting justification for assaulting Jews and Israelis, and rousing their forces. If war has a morale dimension, this is an assault against it. But it could also be used, in small countries, for directing forces and the like.
Otherwise, use your imagination. If the tv station was saying that Druze neighborhoods were completely safe for the time being, that's saying where people that could be licit targets should go; if they're reporting that a squadron of bombs were heading towards a village, that's equivalent to an early warning system. Depends what the station's saying.
I don't know if any of these reflect what the Israelis are thinking. But finding justification is pitifully easy.

11. If the Teeve station is reporting propaganda then yeah. I can see |
|
why they'd take it out as a military objective.
I'd reject most reasons for like directing troops cuz well let's just say if they didn't already know Geraldo told them it wasn't a good idea with his fucked up reporting from Iraq.
Destroying it has to have more to do with civilians than military.

16. Apparently (from another thread) |
|
the tv towers also are rebroadcast towers for mobile and cellphones.
Nasrallah's reportedly away from the fight, with the other Hezbollah leadership. They have to coordinate. If there are no Israeli ground troops in Lebanon, nobody cares if they talk; if ground troops are inserted, suddenly Hezbollah front line folk need to coordinate their activities with each other and with HQ.
Wasn't obvious to me at first. I was thinking that the non-Hezbollah stations might try to rouse people to fight, not that the hardware that broadcast the signal had multiple uses. (Much of what's been bombed that's "civilian use" falls into this category, though--multiple uses.)

14. there are over 200 sat stations in the middle east |
|
this station was somewhere around the 5th watched station in the middle east but knocking it out doesn`t stop any news or pictures from getting out to the rest of the world because the internet and cell phone cameras pretty much insures that the truth will come out from lebanon
