It's time to reclaim our once great nation from the evil cabal that has hijacked her.
Hundreds of years we have worked to build our reputation and they have made us the laughing stock of the world.

14. Dude get real, your probably not going to do anything. |
|
I made a post a little while ago looking for help defeating Peter King. It got 1 vote (what ever that means?) and no replies. I know it has not been out there very long but I would have thought someone would say something. I guess it's just easier to blowviate on the web than it is to get your ass in gear and really do something. I am doing something now and I can tell you it feels great to be part of the solution. Give it a try.

34. LOL! You don't know me from Eve. |
|
First of all, I'm not a "Dude."
Secondly, I'm about as active as it gets--for a mom with three small kids. I'm a Democratic precinct captain working on a local political campaign and a national political campaign at the same time. I'm on a speaking circuit about the separation of church and state. I've got my rep and my senators on speed dial and the editor of the local paper calls me if 30 days go by and I haven't submitted another letter. I participate in the local monthly peace rallies and speak routinely at both city council and county commission meetings.
Hey Dude! This is where I blow off steam so I don't do something stupid in real life. I'm sorry your post didn't get more than one vote and no replies but don't take it out on me. And don't make assumptions about people you know nothing about. Would you really like it if I assumed you were sitting on your ass doing nothing just because you're posting here? Back off, please?

5. There is nothing wrong with our country, it's the people running her |

that are the problem. Anyone who thinks we should change the constitution for any reason hates America. Anyone who thinks one party rule is good hates America. Anyone who thinks questioning the president is Un-American hates America.

Anyone who thinks we should change the constitution for any reason hates America.
I would probably have phrased it this way: Anyone who thinks we should change the constitution to discriminate against any segment of our population hates America.
I can think of a few things that could be changed that would help rather than harm our representative democracy. I believe the amendment process is a good one and is indeed already part of our Constitution. So by your argument, anyone wishing to forbid change to the constitution would be changing the constitution and must hate America.
On example: I supported the ERA amendment.
Another example: I would support an amendment requiring a balanced budget
Another example: I would support an amendment forbidding the use of proprietary software in elections and mandating open audit of elections and requiring paper trails for the purpose of tabulation and audit.

what we need is reform, something to be done about the signing statements, we will need to twist Dems arms to get them to push through comprehensive elections reforms, our elections process is a real mess and the FEC needs to be tweaked so that it provides real oversight, I am not talking about a Democratic Tom DeLaying of the mechanism but a change to weed out wrong doing on both sides. And we need to make sure that FEMA's replacement actually works and is not another confederacy of dunces.

Curt Weldon is embracing conspiracy theorists on 9-11, Arlen Specter is for stem cell research. I can't wait to see what happens next. And a light has clicked on in the GOP brains that maybe Iraq is not going so well after all.

I feel so fortunate that I live within striking distance of a GWB poster child and I live on long Island N.Y.. I am volunteering my time, $ and resources to defeating a rubber stamp vote for GWB. We are going to defeat King I just want the defeat to be as loud as possible. 70% to 30% would make me happy.

31. I am just starting to formulate my strategy. |
|
Some of the things I plan on doing can only be done by private citizens and not political campaigns. So I'm looking to see how I can get people to donate to me to help pay for the truck signs, lawn signs and diesel fuel. I don't expect anyone to give me money on faith so I am working on how to make this into something people feel comfortable enough to donate to. I figure I will have to meet with the people so they see what I'm doing with the money. If you feel this is something you want to be part of you can Donate to Dave Mejias 3rd congressional district N.Y. directly the website is just being completed.

I hope I did not come across as if I wanted any donations from you guys. I am from N.Y. and would not trust sending my money to someone posting as I have. I am going to approach New Yorkers personally for help and if no one wants to help me I will go it alone. I figure I can make a nice dent in king with about $2000 and my time spent driving my truck and putting out signs.
