If not me who, if not now when? |
|
I asked myself these 2 questions the other day. The answer came before I finished the thought, anyone want to take a guess what it was? I than started looking how I could best make a difference without worrying about how hard it would be or weather or not I would benefit in the short term. I identified a group that was working for the same goal and found out how I could help. I was surprised how natural it felt when I got involved and how much better I felt about the future I used to think was out of my control. I will never look back now and will always try to find ways to make real the values I hold dear. I just wanted to say that out loud.

1. real life connections are important. |
|
The net helps us realize how many other people are aware we are in bizarro world. Real life connections help make you feel like you can actually do something.

Perhaps you (or me) alone can't change the world, but we sure can try. And how can we bitch and moan if we're not trying.

5. Do we not change THE world when we change OUR world? |

I am going to pass it along when I run up against people who do nothing because they believe nothing works. Thank you.

4. Congratulations - democracy is a participatory sport. |

As an example I was part of an ad hoc group to bring AAR to our area. Told it was impossible. Six months later we have AAR in our area. OH what a feeling. Stepping out is a bit painful, but oh so rewarding.

6. Be the change. Don't wait for someone else to do it. |
|
Because maybe nobody else will. If you step up, maybe others will follow. Everything we do matters.
