CA Dems governor candidate returns to the fray this week -at last! |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-22-06 06:55 PM by msongs
from today's LA Times "angelides weighs in after fight starts" - (paraphrased):
Phil Angelides (remember him from the ultra nasty dems primary) has been outspent and outmanouvered by Arnold and is this week launching a multimillion dollar tv ad campaign to reintroduce him to the voters of California.
a key goal is to repair damage from allowing arnold to have the field to himself for 6 weeks.
hopes to tie into the damage arnold suffered in last year's election.
the campaign has been slow to take action cuz of phil's micromanagement
organized labor not entirely behind him
repubs have run $12 million in ads against him with no response.
CA democratic party is not entirely behind him yet (mayor of LA keeping his distance)
arnold using the incumbency to promote, endorse and support dem friendly ideas
arnold is writing the script and directing the movie of the election.
Dems express faith that phil will catch up and triumph as CA is a blue state

2. Shouldn't be too hard. Dude went to Ohio to stump for Bush in Oct. '04 |
|
I'd suspect there's even some video, floating around.
