Damn its hot as hell! It's 10PM PST and 90+degrees outside!
The world is burning, everything feels like its going to hell and meanwhile its hot as hell here!

Don't know about the rest of you out there, but the fact that it is 10PM at night and over 90 degrees here in Northern California along the coast is UNHEARD OF! Today it was 115 Degrees in my neighborhood - the hottest I think its ever been here is 105 degrees! And the hottest it usually gets is maybe, maybe in the low to mid-90's, but atleast drops down to the hi-50's to low 60's at night and cools down when the ocean air blows in. But not today, not right now! It was unbearable! And they are expecting more of the same tommorrow...

Global warming....??? Nah, say the naysayers, just ignore those pesky scientists and the stats that show temp's are warming fast....

I say this really really messed up and I fear we are all going to be seeing a lot more of this and worse....

Meanwhile stay cool as much as you can fellow DUers...and pray the world cools down...in all ways right now...

Guess that proximity of yours to the breeze along the Bay makes a difference...Its slowly cooling down (just checked, its now got a slight breeze outside and is a low of 85 degrees!

You have to admit, this kind of weather temps, even at night are unheard of here in Marin County!

Now, sorta wondering if Montana might be going tropical after all.

I have okra growing. I don't think okra is a crop oft seen this far north.

Birds have been WAY off schedule and many, off course this year.

Bugs up the gum stump around here and that is odd.

4. remember the episode of the Twilight Zone?
when the earth was moving closer to the sun and everything was burning? Rod Serling had it right, just global warming rather than a change in the earth's direction as in the episode.

In GA, it's been 95+ all week. Had a break today with clouds and some thundershowers. Reached mid 80's. Been hot as heck late at night as well. I'm sure none of this has anything to do with global warming. That's just a cooky, leftist theory ya know...

But the GOP will not listen to global warming. The forests are burning up, the glaciers are melting. But the GOP stick their heads in the sand. Well, global warming is happening, whether they can accept it or not. We need to protect our kids, but the GOP don't want to face anything other than life is good, optimistic, and wonderful. They have a choice to act or keep their heads buried in the sand. Right now W and the bushbots like the sand in the head option. The traitors.

Hey, Erika -- its still 91 in Meridian at 1 AM. We were in Phoenix last month and were complaining about this kind of heat all day and night. Who knew it would be the same here? My daughter is staying with friends in a cabin up by Garden Valley with no electricity. I hope its at least cooling off over night up there.

22. Look up the Republican "Weather Modification Act" of 1995
Sponsored by Kay Bailey Hutchison. It was quietly passed in October 1995, very close in proximity of Hurricane Katrina. It essentially allows the modification/manipulation of our weather without any accountability on the governments/Military at large.

Also look up the Texas Weather Modification Act and observe how long these governmental entities have had access to the manipulation of our weather.

Americans and citizens worldwide need to wake up to what is involved with our weather forecast. Much is being blamed on Mother Nature, when in reality, it would appear she is being milked like an overworked hereford cow.

32. In Philly, it's not the heat, it's the humidity. Really.
It got into the mid-80s today, but the dew points were as high as 74. We've also had some epic thunderstorms over the past three days.

Later this coming week, the western heat is due to migrate east. Instead of being tropical, it will be searing.

Well, we'd better get used to it -- hotter summers, and wilder (not milder) winters. That's what happens when you add heat to the ecosystem. Now, if only somebody could get that simple truth into the heads of the GOP voters ...

51. and those "high lows" can be very revealing
Nighttime is when global warming is apt to be the most obvious, since the main energy flow should be away from the earth (outgoing heat radiation) and that's what's being blocked by the greenhouse gases. I did a study on nighttime minimum temperatures some time back, and these showed a significant change even before the maximum temps (which almost always happen in the daytime). I wish I'd published something on this back then -- I was scooped by someone else!

A friend has made me promise to go out with her to see if they make an appearance. I'm looking forward to the coolness of the ocean at night -- and it's nowhere near as bad where I am as it is for you. My friend lives up in the forest where it gets hotter'n blazes, and I'm on the coast.

The weather reports are appalling -- I've never seen anything like it. Inland areas in our county that I've never seen get higher than 105 are suddenly 109, 114 degrees, and this is being repeated all over the country.

For a bit of relief you can keep a spray bottle of water in the fridge; take it out and spritz you and the Pachababies periodically.

All you folks are in my thoughts.
