Did Nostradamus predict Bush?
I was watching some show on Nostradamus and took a look at his quatraines. Quatraine X 72 is believed to be 9/11. But have a look at X 73:

73
The present time together with the past
Will be judged by the great Joker:
The world too late will be tired of him,
And through the clergy oath-taker disloyal.

3. It doesn't take a soothsayer
given the human lust for greed, to predict that somewhere along the path someone would attempt to overthrow our government from the inside.

7. I kind of lump Nostradomus in with Revelations
Basically our lifetimes are nothing but a speck in the dust of the universe.
Are we really so vain and self-centered as to believe that in the millions of years of earth's existence that all will come to pass in our short little blip on the radar?

10.  A few years ago
I saw a Nostradamus "documentary" made in the 1980's. Replete with the usual "scholars" and "experts". None of the predictions as interpreted by these people came true.

It's like the Oracle of Delphi. It's open to interpretation. It only makes sense in hindsight. Only material that supports the hypothesis is presented as "proof".

Prophesies can only be fulfilled if people make an effort to fulfill them. Jesus acted in ways so that the prophesies in earlier scripture might be fulfilled. (Matt 28-56). If he had acted differently, he need not have been crucified.

Obviously if Nostradamus (or whoever) was able to predict the future nobody would ever lose money in the stock market.

13. But to be completely fair,
Jesus could not have controlled where he would be born, that was supposedly a prophecy too, so they say.

Bethlehem I think...

You could make that argument for Jesus riding on a donkey but not for where he was born since he had no control over that.

12. Yeah but Bush isn't "judging the world"
The world is judging him and rightfully so.

Geez, I could take prophecies of the bible more than I could this guy, talk about vague and prosaic.

Evil Doers, Terrorists, Deciders. I think he's wrongly judging the world.

14. Ask Nostradamus with the Nostradamus Quatrain Generator!
Ask your own questions of Nostradamus here! I've just asked, "What will become of George W Bush?" and got the answer:
Garden of the world near the new city
Through his death a great schism will arise

It will be seized and plunged into the Vat

Greedy to see the plume of smoke wail in the wind

Hmmm!
