Republican Mantra: Revenues are up, cut taxes!!! |
|
Your darned right revenues are up!! My own personal revenues are up. The only real problem is that EXPENSES are up, too!!
When I first started working, many many years ago, I made just under $2.00 an hour, and thought I was doing great!! Now I'm making many time more than that, and I ain't doing worth a crap!!!
Lets see...when I started working, gas was 30¢ a gallon, now its $3.00. But, revenues are up! A new, fully loaded Corvette would cost you about $1,800 back then. Now, you can't touch one for $40,000..but revenues are up!! A nice furnished apartment could cost from $100 a month on up....now, try to get into a nice one for less than a Grand a month.
Yes, revenues are up...but one thing the repukes forget is that the COST of everything is up, too. Generally, the costs have gone up far more than the revenue, BUT WE GOTTA CUT TAXES!!
Its almost as bad as when this country was born, and voting took place in bars: The man with the best whisky won!!

... gas was 26.9 in town 36.9 on the freeway (Highway robbery back then)... I, as you, am making a bit more nowadays, and still having trouble making ends meet.

gonna privatize social security and bankrupt the public schools unless they cut taxes? Cutting taxes is just a means to an end.
