Never EVER say/write the word "Republican" again... |
|
always say "Bushrepublican" all one word, no hypen.. make it flow...
over the past month I've found that if just talk about 'republican' to people, they hem/haw and try to avoid the issue, yet the SAME people, talking to a few days later, if I say "Bushrepublican", it gets their ire up AT BUSH and it then drips on to any other 'thug I bring up... "yeah, he's the say way.."
Make that the new meme.. Bushrepublican... make sure he's around their neck like a rotting albatross....
"Were you better off that before six years of Bushrepublican Policies?"

1. Rosco, it's a good idea, and FURTHER, it's not a bad idea to |
|
use the phrase "classic conservatives" when talking about Republicans who, if they had an opportunity to listen to the unfiltered Democratic platform, would find more in common with Democratic candidates than Republicans...
"Well, the Democrats favor a strong defense, but they don't like adventurism and war for sport...something that a CLASSIC CONSERVATIVE like you would agree with, but the BUSHREPUBLICANS cannot seem to grasp...."
"Democrats want budgets balanced, debt paid down, and a stop to these foolish expenditures...something a CLASSIC CONSERVATIVE also agree with...but interfere with the profiteering of the BUSHREPUBLICANS at OUR expense...."

3. Good, but instead of "Classic Conservative" say "True Conservative" |
|
gives the TC's a little ego boost and more likely to listen.

6. But might that not backfire? Bush is on his way out in 08. |
|
I see what you mean, but if we blame ALL of it on Bush and not his republican enablers, might not get the "culture of corruption" idea out there strongly enough or make a strong case that Dems are actually better for repub voters.

that why it's BUSHREPUBLICAN, not just BUSH.
it's no different that REGAN DEMOCRAT, except the minute they start to yell about BUSHREPUBLICAN, it takes away them using REGAN DEMOCRAT again....

10. Oh, okay. I really get what you mean this time. |
|
You mean in conjunction with discussion of individuals and not abstractly. Sorry, I was out in left field when I read your post, I guess. Living up to my name, unfortunately. :)

11. bush has two more years to go. |
|
too many current republicans, that dislike bush, somehow seperate (in their mind) that voting for the local congressional seat or senate seat as a "r" (which they have done reflexively for years) is related to continuing to enable the bush administration to act carte blanc. Link the two in the current election - and one forces folks to face the fact that a vote for local republican representative john doe - is a vote for two more years of the egregious bush administration. I think that this pushes the 'enabler' idea to the core. Still a lot of cognitive dissonance on that point.

8. The reason this is important: |
|
there are still some who are persuaded by the 20+ year of rw propoganda against democrats (think Limbaugh, etc.) - and while they are very unhappy with republicans, they are not sure that they can bring themselves to vote for someone with the tag that they have so long dismissed (due to party) with a sneer. Thus - the idea that voting for a republican for congress or the senate, actually enables bushco (that they admit that they dislike) is a complete disconnect.
Too long (and too much explaining to do) to say "Bush enabling republicans". But "Bushrepublicans" push the point home, that voting for the local guy - sends the message (and power) to bushco that they can keep doing as they have been doing.
Very effective way of linking the local vote to the dislike of Bush (which seems to grow daily in this red area.)

.. we need to make sure people REMEMBER who gave us the mess we have. without BUSHREPUBLICANS we never would have had BUSH and his disasters, if there were TRUE CONSERVATIVES then they would have stopped them. All there is now is BUSHREPUBLICANS and there CRONIES.
I feel bumper stickers coming on...

9. But what about the republicans who are against bush... |
|
I know quite a few who wish he'd get impeached and tossed out of office.
I'd insult them if I called them a bushrepublican.

then call the TRUE CONSERVATIVES, such as...
"Rep Ron Paul of Texas is a TRUE CONSERVATIVE, not a BUSHREPUBLICAN like John McCain"
