1. It's 103 deg. in Los Gatos, too. That's insane!

In 15 years in the valley, I never saw greater than about 96 deg. Unfreakingreal. I'll bet the fountain in Ceasr Chavez Plaza is popular with the kids right now.

...BAY AREA HEAT WAVE CONTINUES TO SHATTER RECORDS...

...ALL TIME RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE BROKEN IN SAN JOSE...

THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA CONTINUES TO SIZZLE UNDER AN UNUSUALLY
STRONG UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE. MANY LOCATIONS SHATTERED
THEIR RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES SATURDAY...SOME FOR THE SECOND DAY
IN A ROW. MOST BAY AREA RESIDENTS FELT THE TEMPERATURE CLIMB ABOVE
100 DEGREES...WITH TEMPERATURES REACHING 110 DEGREES OR ABOVE IN THE
INTERIOR VALLEYS. A REMOTE FIRE WEATHER REPORTING STATION NEAR
BRADLEY IN SOUTHERN MONTEREY COUNTY REPORTED A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF
120 DEGREES SATURDAY. LITTLE TO NO RELIEF IS EXPECTED INLAND ON
SUNDAY...SO MORE RECORDS WILL LIKELY FALL.

THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES THAT WERE
BROKEN SATURDAY...

NEW HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR JULY 22

FOR THE LAST TWO NIGHTS...SUNSET HAS BROUGHT LITTLE RELIEF TO THE
DISTRICT. A HUMID AIRMASS ALOFT HAS COUPLED WITH OFFSHORE FLOW TO
PREVENT TEMPERATURES FROM FALLING MUCH DURING THE EVENING HOURS.
THIS HAS RESULTED IN SOME OF THE WARMEST NIGHTS IN BAY AREA HISTORY.

IN FACT...ON SATURDAY JULY 22...SAN JOSE REPORTED THEIR WARMEST
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED FOR ANY CALENDAR DAY SINCE
TEMPERATURE RECORDS BEGAN BEING KEPT IN 1893.

in riverside ca. but it gets that hot here almost every year at least once, so not that unusual.

highest temp here in the last 25 years = 117. now that is hot, didnt have any AC in those days.

Can you tell me what that's like? I mean, is it, like, you don't want to kill yourself by 9:00 every morning? LOL

22. Feels pretty good here in the DFW metro at about
the same karlrschneider. I thought we had died and gone to heaven since it cooled off so much....15 degrees is A LOT when it was 107 earlier in the week and now about 91.

26. Yep I know, have friends in Dallas who I talk with often (I used to
fly the company plane down there 2 or 3 times a week until they closed the branch office just south
of Addison)

Just recalled a story on the local news Friday, a kid got 3rd degree burns when she sat down on a
metal slide at a playground! Kids (and maybe lots of adults) don't realize how terrifically hot
stuff like that can actually get in the blazing sun! :-(

25. Thank goodness it finally cooled down.
I've been outside a lot the last couple of days. I hate being cooped up, and that's how it had been for the last week!

90 actually felt nice!

At least inland most of us have some A/C because hot days happen
but this stretch of weather is unreal.

plus we just had a grass fire that came within 25 feet of our property line. Looks line a pile of old fence posts by our neighbor's driveway spontaneously combusted.

9. Howdy, neighbor!
Weather service says it's 94 in Los Altos, but its readings have seemed off a lot all week. My trusty outdoor, in-the-shade thermometer currently reads 102, at 3:52pm.

I'm about to lose my mind with the heat. This must be what it's like to wear a rubber bodysuit. In a sauna. In the Amazon jungle. While being burned at the stake.

I feel like Lois Nettleton in the "Midnight Sun" episode of "The Twilight Zone."

Being a block from Lake Michigan keeps us cool nearly all summer. We use our central air about ten or fewer days per year.

23. LOL!
I was in Phoenix a few weeks ago. It got up to 112 one day. It didn't feel like it does in the DFW metro though. You would sweat and it would instantly evaporate. Weirdest thing I ever experienced! I did have a helluva time touching the steering wheel in the car though....
