Andy Card said what to Bush, and how long did Bush sit there on 9/11?
And what's the source for the Card comment and the timing?

(yeah, I'm in an argument with a bush-bot elsewhere...)

2. He said 'We've been attacked"
And BUSH SAT THERE FOR SOMETHING LIKE 27 MINUTES,
AND THEN HE WENT OUTSIDE FOR A PHOTO-OP.

(Just guessing on the minutes)

4. "Sir we are under attack"
Bush SAT THERE for about 11 minutes, then continued with the utterly meaningless photo op for another 14 minutes as though nothing had happened.

I went through that video frame by frame. The main expression on his face right after Card interrupted his photo op was that of irritation.

There are only two conclusions: first, he is the stupidest and most callous human being the planet has ever produced and doesn't move unless someone tells him to, or second, he knew what was coming.

My money's on the latter.

16. that makes more sense than some of Bush's declarations later
That "joke" he kept repeating, about seeing the first plane crash into the tower (when the footage wasn't available for many hours after) -- and thinking "there's one terrible pilot".

15. and then they had the kids as a backdrop for his announcement
... of the attacks.

Which doesn't make much sense if Bush were a potential target -- plus it would have been frightening for the children (so much for Bush's claim that he didn't react immediately to Card's news because he didn't want the kids to panic!).

7. "Two in, two to go."
Who really knows what Card said to Bush? Fact is, what they publicly state is probably questionable. All I know is that he hung tight looking oblivious to the horror unfolding. He had a 9:30 photo-op to worry about and he had to stay on task. Even Ari was holding up a message telling Bush to stay put.

19. Here is some info...
As President Bush begins to read with the students at Booker Elementary, Chief of Staff Andrew Card interrupts to whisper to him, "A second plane hit the second tower, America is under attack." President Bush continues the lesson for another five to seven minutes, rather than alarm the students.

20. Some definitive links
From the 9/11 Comission:

The President was seated in a classroom of second graders when, at approximately 9:05, Andrew Card whispered to him: "A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack." The President told us his instinct was to project calm, not to have the country see an excited reaction at a moment of crisis. The national press corps was standing behind the children in the classroom; he saw their phones and pagers start to ring. The President felt he should project strength and calm until he could better understand what was happening.

The President remained in the classroom for another five to seven minutes, while the children continued reading. He then returned to a holding room shortly before 9:15....

24. 9-11 commission...definitive??? Somehow those two items don't belong
together.

He sat still as long as necessary to allow the planes to complete their job. Same with Rumsfeld and Cheney (well, Cheney actually was repeatedly asked if he wanted to hold the shoot down order on the Pentagon plane...he did)

It was all a wonderful coinky-dinky...I also liked the part where Bush flew to the military base where the CEOs of the WTC just happened to be gathered for a meeting...LUCKILY none of them were killed when the buildings went down. An AMAZING coincidence like thousands of others that day!

25. Better understand what was happening?
Card whispered in his ear and walked away. Bush didn't ask a single question. Not one. seems a wee bit odd to me.
