Rice's Statement On The Trib Front Page
On the print edition of the Chicago Tribune, i see a subhead, that says "a ceasefire not a priority" in Rice's trip.

In the body, that sentiment is reinforced in quotes. WHAT!?!?!?!?!?

While i can understand the idea that a cease-fire is not a permanent solution, but merely a temporary fix, how the hell can it NOT be priority? People are dying, Condi, you incompetent twit! No matter the long term solution, the FIRST PRIORITY SHOULD BE TO GET PEOPLE TO QUIT SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER!

Geez, no wonder i'm so disgusted. She's supposed to be the smart and educated one, and she doesn't think a ceasefire is a good idea because it doesn't accomplish the long term goal! Well, it certainly would accomplish reducing the number of killed, maimed and homeless! Idiot!

3. Of course a cease-fire isn't a priority with her
This is Bushco's best, possibly last chance to fulfill all of their PNAC dreams. The longer this war drags on, the better the chance that Syria and Iran will jump into the fray, thus providing Bushco with the perfect excuse to invade those two countries, thus fulfilling their PNAC dreams of ME hegemony.

This was all laid out years ago, why are so many people suprised that Bushco is working towards these goals:shrug:

7. I Think That Overestimates Them
Sorry, but i just don't accept that these people, despite their machiavellian nature, are that smart. I honestly believe they're the gang that can't shoot straight, and everything they touch turns to crap.

I don't think this is part of their plan. They've just screwed it up so badly that this is the result.

4. Um, She represents an administration that believes war is better
at getting results than diplomacy. A ceasefire when they've got "terrarists" in their your sights is anathema to them.

These are just the birth pains of democracy's (apparently Cesarian) birth in the ME, don't cha know?

8. Then She Should Be
I guess that's the point i'm really making. The SoS of the United States SHOULD BE there to encourage, insist upon, and secure the peace.
