A possible reason for Bush's recent strange(r) behavior
Edited on Mon Jul-24-06 10:27 AM by LostinVA
My mom, a nurse, had something interesting to say about this the other day. I apologize for not remembering all the technical medical stuff... I was also half watching something on TV at the time.

ANYWAY, she said that sometimes when people are major addicts of certain type of drugs when younger (like Coke), when they get older, they get something that's like a dementia caused by their abuse. She didn't call it that, but that's the gist of it. She said that could be the problem. Or, he could be drinking again, or he could just be being the idiot that he always has been. She thinks he's really degenerated though, especially when compared to interviews of him like 8-10 years ago.

1. Absolutely ~ probably a combination of all of it and the "hard work"
that he has to do . :)

3. Check out this streaming video, illustrating Bush's presenile dementia...
Right here. Regardless of cause (and I think your mom has a very valid point), he's losing control over his faculties.

4. That, and he has cut his vacation days way
back.
Or at least the lapdog media is not reporting them like they were.

11. Well, hang on for August. The brush will have been trucked in by then
Edited on Mon Jul-24-06 10:47 AM by mcscajun
and it'll be time for photo-ops down at the pig farm once more.

Washington clears out every August; this one should be no exception.

5. That and he's simply useless under any kind of pressure
No one as dumb and insensitive as this imbecile should ever be allowed to be put into the pressure cooker of a position he's in.

6. Bush is in desperate need of professional help
The man is losing his mind to behave so inappropriately in a formal envireonment.

Either that or a drug test.

7. Add the psychological, sociological, and connection angles.

I would guess his parents tolerated and excused plenty. I would guess that he has always been given deference, even by namesake. I would guess that some of his business partnerships were arranged to make him think he was doing great - by propping him up and creating an attempt to push him into making it on his own.

I believe that he is a person who has been propped up by many to appear to be something he isn't causing him to be deluded about himself. I think he is a vulnerable person besides being a combination of shallowness and hate that is disatrous.

A person has to throw in the factor of his relishing his role as actor. If not relishing, getting into it to delight himself about himself. I think the combination of delusion, acting, ruleless ruthlessness will be his legacy.

The only thing saving us right now in our sanity of having him there are the jokes.

9. i agree, but here's my thing: it just doesn't matter
it's all very fascinating and interesting to play "dr. house" and try to guess what he's acting like he's demented and/or drunk and/or sociopathic and/or whatever.

past and/or continued alcohol abuse
past and/or continued cocaine abuse
some other substance problem
alzheimer's
some other neurological problem
maybe he's just lying
maybe he's a pathological liar
maybe he's just acting

this is all great fun to wonder, but at the end of the day, i don't care.

anybody who makes us wonder about these things needs to find a different job. the president of the united states should inspire hope and make people want to make america the best it can possibly be. he should not inspire people to wonder what the hell is wrong with him.

That statement is so true I could cry. I just want a NOT crazy president.

14. He should also not inspire people to wonder...
what the hell is wrong with his supporters who still can't see how messed up he is.

I find that the worst thing. How can his transparent psychological faults not alienate his supporters? It causes the cynic in me a great deal of distress about the fitness of the average american to make reasonable judgements.

18. Right there with you.
The diagnosis really doesn't matter if the patient is not able to function as expected. In military medical terms, he'd probably receive a "profile." In many corporations, there would be talk and maybe action toward "short term disability."

Presidents are either tried and impeached, or we have to wait out the time...

15. He's drunk
Now, I don't care if people get drunk, they can get falling down shit faced for all I care, but, this fucker is drunk, and dangerous when drunk.
A self professed reformed alkie and druggie, he's not reformed though, look at this picture and tell me the fool isn't snockered, I've been around drunks all my life, I can tell when someone has been drinking this photo says it all.

16. Yep, I've seen many a drunk with that exact expression...
on their face.

My analysis: Notice he's standing in front of an otherwise empty place setting and there's a beer bottle on the table. IMO, he's decided he'd better eat something before he gets so shitfaced he falls down. He looks a bit upset that dinner's not ready and Putin is just playing host, appeasing the dork.

are dead give aways even in stills. When there is video like him backrubbing Chancellor Merkel, it shows even more how out of control he is. I used to be a bartender so I have had a lot of practice sorting out my drunks.
