Condi the Flying Dutchman - Dowd article

http://64.226.238.78/PA/md/md217.shtml

-snip-

The more W. and his tough, by-any-means-necessary superbabe have tried to tame the Middle East, the more inflamed the Middle East has become. Now the secretary of state is leaving, reluctantly and belatedly, to do some shuttle diplomacy that entails little diplomacy and no shuttling. It's more like air-guitar diplomacy.

-snip-

"I could have gotten on a plane and rushed over and started shuttling, and it wouldn't have been clear what I was shuttling to do," she said.

Keep more civilians from being killed? Or at least keep America from being even more despised in the Middle East and around the globe?

Like Davy Jones, the octopus-headed creature who had to keep sailing Flying Dutchman-like without getting to land in the new "Pirates of the Caribbean," Condi had a hard time finding an Arab port in which to dock.
-snip-
------------------------------

Condi called the carnage: "birth pangs of a new Middle East,

what a nauseating thing to say

may she trip and fall in her spike heeled shoes

1. "birth pangs of a new Middle East"
Why do they insist on mistaking death rattles for birth pangs?

Actually I think they are right
We are seeing the emergence of a new middle east, one of perpetual war, death, suffering and danger. All brought to us by the midwives W, Big Dick, Rummy and the rest of the PNAC folks. When we take out Syria's government and attack Iran, all that will be left is a seething uncontrolled cauldron of hatred, to be perpetuated generation after generation.

3. And why do they keep thinking that they are in the middle of
birth pangs when their civilization it 20 times older than our little "experiment." Shows the ineptness of Condiliar and the Evil Cabal. Hubris of the chronically stupid.

Condi could probably get them a good deal on new shoes, clue them in on Chucklenuts favorite pet names of the staff and take a photo op with the best of them but a diplomat she ain't. She should have stayed with her husb...prezident, where it is safe and sound.

Not saying things are going peachy keen over there but I think I would be a tad pissed if some chickie from a "civilization" (and I won't even talk about what we did to the civilization that was here before we landed on their shores - our track record is less than inspiring) as young as we are over there teaching them a thing or two about birth pangs.

2. concluding paragraph:
"The cowboy president bet the ranch on Iraq, and that war has made almost any other American action in the Arab world, and any Pax Americana that might have been created there, impossible. It's fitting that Condi is the Flying Dutchman, since Lebanon represents the shipwreck of our Middle East policy."

so sad.

4. Condi doesn't want to go and work on peace over there
when she would just have to do it again six weeks later. And in six weeks it will be nearing autumn and the new fall shoe line will be out.

Junior and Condi do have a lot in common: they are both spoiled, lazy and inept.
