Most Expensive US home $135M on mkt belongs to Saudi Prince Bandar
What happened to the American Dream?

http://www.rismedia.com/index.php/article/articleview/15312/1/1/

While thousands are losing their homes due to job losses the most expensive home on the US market belongs to Bush's buddy Prince Bandar. If that isn't enough to frighten you, just look at the price tag, $135,000,000, yes 135 million dollars.

How can they sleep at night? This is sickening, just plain sickening.

How many gallons of gasoline would that buy?
How many children would that feed?
How many college tuitions would that pay?
How many mortgages would that keep out of foreclosure?
How many jobs could that create?
How many negotiators would that pay to stop the wars?
How many artificial limbs would that buy?
How many coats of armour?

Where does it stop? How desperate are we going to be in 5 years, ten years or can we even see the middle class and poor of this country we call America surviving that long?

What did they do with my American Dream?

2. Here's Bandar's Aspen digs - "Bigger than the White House"
Edited on Mon Jul-24-06 03:19 PM by leveymg
Kinda puts things into perspective, doesn't it.

According to Laurie Moore-Moore, founder and President of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, "The current world record for the most expensive residence was set in 2004 when a London home sold for $128 million. While Prince Bandar's property may break that record, don't look for it to happen quickly. Despite the increase of personal wealth worldwide, there are few buyers internationally who are in a position to purchase a property of this magnitude."

According to Moore-Moore, this is a trophy house and its appeal will not only be its size and the unique features it offers, but the opportunity for the buyer to own the world's most expensive residence.

Built in the late 1980's, Starwood Ranch sits on 95 acres of land in Aspen. The 56,000 square foot home has more than 30 rooms, an indoor pool, trails, a snowmelt driveway, employee living quarters and stables. The main home has 16 bathrooms and 15 bedrooms and is larger than the White House.

5. That's how the rich stay that way.
With some notable exceptions, the very wealthy are also very cheap with the help.

3. "Most expensive single-family home listed in America" - but does only
Edited on Mon Jul-24-06 03:30 PM by shain from kane
a single-family live there? How many wives is this guy supporting? Is there anyone in the Bush administration or Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson criticizing this "prince" of a fellow with their Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve bullshit? Not a traditional marriage, by any means, but no condemnation. In some parts of this country, he couldn't get an occupancy permit.

Edited --- add, that I could only find a reference to one wife. She was accused of providing funds to al-Qaeda. However, I'm going to let my criticism stand until it can be explained to me who uses such a house as this as a single-family home.

7. I don't have a problem with it per se
There will always be opulent homes. My problem is with the owner. Why are Saudis even allowed to own US real esate? Oh right, so they don't have to travel far when they want to hold hands with their closest ally, Bush.

8. I don't feel that much outrage.
Can you imagine the taxes on that place? At least some of the money we've spent on oil made it's way back into our economy. I'm sure many contractors and workers were employed in the construction of the home. If the super wealthy want to blow large amounts building illiquid real estate, I say let them. It beats a lot of the alternatives.

14. The kitchen is connected to the great room
but this is not the MAIN house that's for sale, so who knows? It's just a guest house. I don't think it looks very "lived in."

15. Bandar Bush - another corrupt BushCo Oil Crony
Bush, the corrupt Republicon cronies, and the Saudis like Bandar Bush are getting filthy rich while we Americans pay pay pay for their wealth at the gas pumps.

Never forget that 19 of the 9/11 terrorists were Saudi's -- and that Bush flew the bin Laden clan out of America a day later (secretly, of course, as usual).

Do I smell treason agains the USA? Yes I do, George AWOL Bush and your kissing cousin, Bandar Bush...
