1. Sorry, I don't buy that one |

Unfortunately we have nutcase xenophobes in both countries. There may be more here, but they're in Canada too. If she wants to point to some evidence that the US manipulated the election, or funded Harper, or something else, then present the evidence. But if she's saying that Canada elected Harper to be more like the US, so it's our fault, that's just shirking responsibility.

2. That's nonsense. The Canadians had Bush as an example. |
|
That should have been more than enough for them to know never to trust someone like Harper. Evidently, a lot of Canadians are like a lot of Americans: they see but they cannot understand.

3. That statement is way off the mark, As a Canadian.... |
|
I can tell you that the main reason Harper got voted in is because he was the best of 2 evils from which to choose. Martin's liberals had gone down the toilet with corruption and scandal over the last few years. They were beyond redemption in the eyes of the country and they knew it. Canadians basically "settled" with Harper. He and his crew couldn't be any worse. Up until now, they had been doing a pretty good job of keeping to their agenda and not rocking any boats. However, his rhetoric lately has been mirrowing Bush's more and more, but that is not any doing on the part of Canadians wishing it. We for the most part are the anti-bush. The first red flag incident was Harper's refusal to broadcast any images of the fallen soldiers coming back and not flying the flag at half mast anymore for each one who died. The famous "measured" response to Israel is basically a mini me reply to the head Neo con. No doubt about it.

10. I agree with you, if you keep voting for the same party no matter |
|
why would that party listen to you. They will take you for granted and look to attract others by kissing their ass knowing that you will vote for them no matter what. Re-elect no one.

Both were put in power by the same forces - the Rabid Religious Right.

5. You're Naive If You Think King george Was Not Involved |
|
He and his chronies likely had a hand in the elections up north, and the recent one down south.
Don't think the conservative North America Sweep was just coincidence.

But if it is, she should show some evidence of something, not just accuse.

6. Wasn't the Christian Coalition helping Harper up there? |

I thought I saw something about that but I could be mistaken.

8. Canadians are responsible for harper, no one else |
|
It is sad to see even one Canadian not take responsibility for what is happening in our own country. I didn't vote for him but I could have worked harder to try and stop him from getting elected. I WILL be working my ass off during the NEXT election, that's for damn sure.

9. It was voter fatigue with an exhausted Liberal Party |
|
and its uninspiring corporatist leader. Canadians didn't vote for Harper. Though they may be foolish enough to next time.
