YEAH!!!! Lou Dobbs is to discuss Shrub violating the Constitution!!!!
Lou just did his 1 min. spot of what is going to be on him show tonight, and one of the subjects is the ABA panel announcing today that Shrub is violating the law and breaking his oath to support and defend the Constitution by his use of over 800 signing statements!

I watchd the ABA Press Conference this morning, and I was hoping Lou, and every other news program would highlight their findings. I don't know which other programs are going with this story, but at least Lou is!!!!!

YEAH!!!!!!!

2. I saw the American Bar Assn. press conference, too.
(C-Span) It was a no nonsense, powerfully aggressive pronouncement of the dangerous example Bush is setting with his 800+ signing statements . They said that this NEEDS TO BE DISCUSSED in full and the information be made available to the public. They even asked for the media to help get this information out there (front page). This is about abusing the Constitution. I haven't heard one more thing about it today. The only news out there is about Lebanon/Israel.

I hope C-span repeats this later on today......the Bush administration would like nothing more than to see this swept under the rug. Look for it on the C-span schedule....American Bar Association wanting the constitutionality of signing statements to be addressed.

(They also mentioned how ...by issuing signing statements....Bush can renege on his promises to "fund" certain programs that he has signed into law.....like his "no-child-left-behind" program. It makes him look good and he doesn't have to back it up with funding.)

Please, don't let this issue slip through the cracks because of our around-the-clock war coverage.

4. Let me make an easy prediction...
When a Democrat becomes President "signing statements" will become the worst than a President getting a BJ in the bizarro world according to the then GOP/Right Wingers.

6. Its just good journalism. Good for him.
Really its a slow pitch, president declares himself above the law by writing it on a piece of paper. Lou should be able to knock it out of the park...The only reason people didn't cover it before was fear of Bush's "power", which I think people are starting to see is a lot of bark and no bite!

8. Yes, the Guy from the ABA said there were 807 as of 7/11/06
One of the reporters asked why the ABA number was higher than the Boston Globe reported,a dn e xplained that it's a moving number because Shrub keeps doing them!

Since 7/11//06 was 2 weeks ago, so it's probably higher still!

12. And be sure to remember...
...that the previous ones were not used to nullify laws, as Bu$h uses them.

9. Are those numbers right?
I thought he only signed about 170 or so statements but they applied to over 700 laws, including existing laws.

11. On my favorite list
It seems that the first and only place on any major news station where I might find out about 'need to know' things, is on his show. He has announced all kinds of information, like all the job losing trade deals, especially with China, the non-enforcement of our immigration laws, and he had been talking of these 'signing statements for some time. All these items, I believe, are impeachable and treasonous offenses. But, then again, who owns the media in this country? GE, Murdoch, etc. Keep on Dobbs and Pilgrim!
