Before the circular firing squad starts up re: Boxer
I see a circular firing squad/flame war coming. It happens every time one of our political darlings says something to stab us in the back. This time it comes from Barbara Boxer defending Joe Lieberman on his indefensible comments re:the morning-after pill.

We'll hear from those who love Boxer to death and think she must have some plan.
We'll hear from those who say she has betrayed us and the whole party by doing such awful things.
Then we'll hear, "Why are you throwing her under the bus!"

Then we'll hear, "Why are YOU giving her a free pass!"

And then the fur will fly...

Unless it doesn't. Unless we take a minute to stop it. We're Democrats. We don't resort to fighting the minute we disagree. Remember that.

The truth of the matter is this: we're neither giving Boxer a free pass nor throwing her under the bus. We're asking the hard questions to make sure she's doing her job, because she's our employee. That's called oversight. We can love her and challenge her at the same time-- remember, it's the Republicans who see things and people in black-and-white, not us.

2. Works for me. None of them have to agree with each of us 100%. Hell, we
don't even agree with ourselves 100%.

And it doesn't matter. Jesus Christ himself could endorse Lieberman, and I'll still vote against him.

3. What each of us prefers may not always be what takes place.
The big picture has many moving parts.

Boxer's as human as we are.

I've worked as a volunteer for her campaigns for Senate.

I'd do it again.

In a flash.

5. That's fine with me.
I wasn't going to have a knee-jerk reaction about this matter though.

6. I love it! You've done a meta-thread right there. And it's perfect.
The only thing you didn't do was the concern troll. But otherwise, perfect pitch, Witch. :)

7. How dare you
inject reason and sanity into the conversation?!? You're spoiling the froth fest! At least let me get in my forty licks before calling a truce.
