1. What a total idiot he is.
He uses that example to show how to train children. I guess he is advocating beating children with a whip too. Why didn't he just clamp his hand around the 12 lb dog's mouth and carry him to the bed? I guess that was too simple.

2. Wow...that's sick.
I'm pretty experienced with dogs. I've had big dogs all my life and I was a caretaker for 6 German Shepherds for awhile. I believe in being very dominant with dogs, but it's an appropriate level of dominance. That's the sort of situation where I would have picked the dog up and put him to bed. If he acted aggressively, he would have been grabbed by the scruff and placed on his back. You don't need to hit a dog (with extremely rare exceptions). And it's a FUCKING DACHSHUND! I think if 105lb me can subdue a dog outweighing me simply by acting as the alpha dog in the pack, then a 200lb "man" should have no issue with a 12lb dog. Come to think of it, I've never had to resort to physical reprimands with small dogs at all. They just always "listened" to a stern voice.

4. WOW, talk about a controling personality!
I am a real dog person, and I judge people by the way they treat animals. I never heard this side of Dobsom before this article, but I could feel something about him I didn't like or trust, every time I heard him speak. I now know I wasn't wrong.

He's another conrtol freak! Too bad the little dog didn't tear out his jugular!

5. chickenhawk republicons won't join the US armed services
and fight to defend America, but they will pick on a poor, little Animal.

No wonder Americans are turning their backs on the corrupt cabal of chickhawk republicon kkkristian kronies.

10. Nope, he deserves a Presa Canario.
They're much bigger and more human aggressive. Most pit bulls are very sweet with humans, but often tend to be more dog aggressive than other breeds (which is not an issue with an educated, responsible owner). Actually, neither is the Presa Canario, but the Presa is way more likely to give Dobbs a better fight (and will match him in weight pretty closely).

9. On edit: I'd like to see him try it with some of these schutzhund dogs.

For those of you who don't know, Schutzhund is German protection dog work. The dogs compete in obedience, scent tracking, and protection. They also need to be very stable in temperment and overall trustworthy dogs. It doesn't train dogs to be vicious, just to be good working dogs.

11. I nominate this as best threat title of the month (at least)

and this item nicely illustrates how twisted the man really is.

12. What a sick, sick man
The dog obviously hates his guts, who can blame it?

I'm always amazed at the parents I meet who actually believe in what this creep is selling. Needless to say, most of these parents have had a lot of problems with their children.

13. When you beat a dog, you run the chance of ending up with a vicious dog
My neighbors recently had to have their dog put down because she had gotten so vicious. I don't know if they beat her, but they beat the shit out of each other around the dogs. Poor dog, she liked me and was never vicious toward me.

Dobson is so wrong-he's not advocating spanking, he's advocating beating your child. There's a big difference.
