Future generations will ask, how did the Neo Cons get away with it?
And the answer is a shameful and familiar one, we let them.

3. They burrowed their way into every institution in our society
From the DoD to the State Dept. to the CIA to the New York Times, and obviously key positions in the GOP, and thousands of others, they gnawed their way in and subverted from within. This wasn't one election. It was an organized movement that started back under Nixon and has slowly taken over. The good news is they're real thinly spread, but they have to be dug out and expelled from government and other key institutions, or they'll just do it again.

8. This could not happen unless many Dems were also
in the hands of special interests.

4. How did the Nazis get away with it?
Both groups tapped in to deep-seated cultural fears and appealed to nationalism as the answer to insecurity. Both groups gave simple answers in the face of complex problems, and promised stability during unstable times (and both deliberately caused unstable times to bolster the appeal of their ideology.)

Sorry for invoking Godwin's Law so soon, but I think the comparison is valid enough to merit mention.

5. The media is run by neo-cons
It's how Hitler got control of Germany.

Its why we passed laws after WWII to limit the ownership of media in different markets.

Changing those laws in the 1990's to allow more media concentration was the end of our media.

That is the main cause and history will see it too

7. Bingo! Lack of independent media! It is also how they
get away with stealing elections and how the supreme court got away with selecting a pResident. The neocons knew what they were doing when the bought our media.

6. Perhaps you'd have to have a direct connection to Rove's brain
to know a great many of the details (and eww, isn't THAT a nasty thought, being inside KKKarl's brain?!) ... but my short answer would be that they simply turned up the heat on the pot of water with the frog (us) in it a little bit at a time....

Result? Frog cooked!

(And yes, Frog still should have JUMPED a long, long time ago, it would seem. Frog may have been paradoxically too busy planning it's next busy work day to feed the family AND too damned complacent. Hard to say; but since Frog is US, it's different for each individual and therefore it's impossible to make a sweeping statement about it without falling into a logic trap -- or "trick bag" as some would know to call it. :D)

10. When the truth is written about these dark days, the media will
take a large portion of the blame. They have been completely one-sided for 15 years now, and the damage that's done to the country is immeasurable.
