2. They claim they got lots of intel on it after Zarqawi died.
Evidence from the site and surrounding areas. So no, it's not magic.

The problem is that, as profusely predicted, the group's importance was quickly eclipsed by the real resistance, which has been trading blows with Shiite death squads etc. ever since, doing far more carnage combined than Zarqawi ever did. Note however, that pitting both against each other was Zarqawi's mission in life (and death)...

10. They're having tailgate parties and signing up more recruits.
Now that we've given the people of the region only choices between invasion/occupation/collaboration or Al-queda, Hezbullah, Hamas, the Mahdi Army, Osama bin Laden could don a flight suit and proclaim "Mission Accomplished".

11. my opinion is
that most of the insurgency is homegrown. The press and the administration need to interject 'Al Qaeda' into everything to make people believe there is some link to 9/11 that justifies this stupid occupation. A right wing talk show guy once said that our mission was to kill insergents, secondly to kill insergents and third to kill insergents.. or maybe it was 'terrorists'. I think many times insergents=Iraqis. Translated our job over there is to kill Iraqis, kill Iraqis, kill Iraqis. Getting that oil out of there would be a hell of a lot easier if we didn't have those pesky Iraqis in the damn way! This whole conflict is sick, twisted and morally wrong.
