This makes my brain hurt
I'm sorry that the lady lost her son in Iraq, but I'm not sure a rolling tribute Hummer was the best way to memorialize him.

4. wonder if she got permission from other families for their son's picts?
"For Karla Comfort, having the vehicle air brushed with the image of the 10 Marines was a way to pay homage to her hero and his fellow comrades who fell on Iraq's urban battlefield."

Everyone finds comfort their own way.

5. It's just the irony of memorializing someone who got killed in
a war that's basically over oil by buying and tricking out a gas guzzling SUV... Different strokes for different folks.

6. I know. Sometimes people rationalize differently
have to believe your child died for a good reason, otherwise it would be such a waste. You know?

7. She's mourning. I'm not going to judge her.
If my child died I don't know what I would do. For all we know, this woman needed this project to keep herself from going completely insane.

12. Well, I guess we all mourn in different ways
So even though I think that's tacky on so many levels, if it brings her peace...

I don't "get it" but then I don't have to...it's her grief.
