"Bush will be remembered as a great President 20 years from now!"
Have you heard that line before?

And, if so, how do you respond to it?

1. Well it depends
If I'm drinking water I do a spit take. If i'm drinking milk I laugh and have it come out my nose for greater effect.

10. he sux bad and they know it
They can't defend anything he's doing because he's screwing up royally.

They hope people with shorter attention spans than their own will mindlessly parrot the "Bush was a great prezident" meme without knowing jack about him.

When you can't defend a position, you say "Let history be the judge" like Tony Poodle did with the decision to invade Iraq. This is a version of the same thing.

11. Yes, by the fallen angels in Hell.
He will be celebrated as he sits on the left hand of Lucifer for bringing as many souls as he did into the Hellfire while he was President.

This is if you are talking to a fundie.

anything is possible. 20 years ago he was the "ketchup is a vegetable" one-step-away-from-Iran-contra indictment guy. Now it turns out he won WW2, defeated communism, and solved all of our economic problems.

13. The true and complete devastation by the bush WH will not be known.....
Edited on Tue Jul-25-06 02:04 PM by Double T
until the scoundrel finally leaves office. You can almost hear the hum of ALL those paper shredders destroying the physical evidence, but the devastation will be so widespread and abundant that there will be noway to eradicate this criminal's record, while he was in office. the bush legacy will be nothing to be proud of regardless of how the neocons attempt to spin it. reagan was the alleged 'great communicator'; bush will be the 'great devastator'.

18. Hope I'm alive then in my nineties to say "Gee, was I every wrong"
about W's fiscal insanity and taking us to permanent pre-emptive world against an abstract noun, terrorism, while the nation's intra-structure rots, the earth is polluted solely for corporate gain, the Treasury, including the mythical "lock box," is looted, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, the value of the dollar has gone to hell, countless millions still do not have access to medical services, countless millions more cannot afford life-saving prescriptions, countless millions more are hungry, and countless millions more cannot heat their homes in the winter nor cool their homes in the summer.

19. No, as a matter of fact I hear just the opposite
from people who I know voted for him in 2000 (dunno about 2004).

"Bush will be remembered as the worst president in US history, bar none." That is what I hear from fellow Texans (Rs and Ds).

I agree with them.

23. 20 years after there are now many Americans considering
Reagan as a great President. Even if he never sunk to the levels of Bush, most Europeans observers considered him as not very bright and he is today seen as the one that let the neocons into power. Many of US politics of today are rooted into the Reagan presidency which had devastating consequences on the global economy, the environment and trough the Afghanistan war created the situation we have today.
