The Afghanization of Iraq...
What I think we are witnessing with the latest war in the ME (Israel/Hizbollha) is the pushing to the back of the burner of Iraq.

This is being done very purposely via the WH and the MSM to distract the publics attention (as short as it is) from the colossal failure Iraq has turned out to be.

Desperately needing "good news" on the war front, moron* and his room full of dopes along with their fighting buddies in Israel have cooked up a doozy of a scheme.

And it goes like this:

A win is needed for moron* regardless of who gets it, he* will take credit for it.

Israels little foray into Lebanon, quite effectively, bumped Iraq out of the publics eye.

The Iraq war is the number one thing on the U.S. pops mind, so something along the line of being fresh new and possibly good news needs to be catapulted.

In steps Israel, with it's over the top response to the various tit for tat pissing match that has been going on between Israel and name your favorite Palestinian "terror" group and you have a ready made war for TV.

Things are not going well for moron* in Iraq. It's prime minister appears to be growing a set of balls, however tiny, they are there. Talk of cutting it up in to sectors seems to be the new trend and the daily stream of dead soldiers continues their flow back home.

A major bring down.

So with elections coming up and Iraq being a total bummer for the repukes, they need to start something new. Expect this to drag on for a few more weeks. There maybe peace but you will not see Israel withdraw anytime soon. Why you ask?

Because, if the jerk* and his errant band of halfwits have it their way, they will use the "peace" settlement to get them though the elections, after which you will see; Syria, Iran, Hizbollha, Iraqi fighters, take your pick, violate the cease fire and that's when the real big war begins.

Expect to see Syria turned into glass, Iran lobbing missiles left and right and Turkey taking out the Kurds.

Now all of this is just a hunch, a mere whisper in my mind, but if even I'm only 10% correct, it's still some scary ass shit.

1. Not a bad summary ... not bad at all.
But don't forget the frightfully short attention span of most Americans -- it will figure into the success of such a plan, if plan it they did.

Already we're seeing more Iraq stories creep back into the mix, along with a renewed focus on the environmental ravages in our own country such as the storms that take out power for WEEKS in St. Louis, the wildfires and threat of power outages increasing in the Far West, thanks largely to global warming's effects, and of course along those lines the heat waves that are causing many deaths as well as utter misery for whole large swathes of the population.

I gather from the way all the corporate news networks are still sending their "big names" into the heart of the conflict in Israel/Lebanon, they at least must expect that it will last long enough to make it worth paying the travel expenses of their biggies. But that doesn't mean America will continue to want to hear 24/7 about the insanity going on roundabout Israel for much longer.

Every time there have been "flare-ups" involving Israel in the recent past, such events make the big headlines and dominate news reporting for a short time and then subside, even when the fighting continues. If that happens this time, Bu$hCo won't find good cover in this story for more than another week or two.

By then, the escalating mess in Iraq will come back on the news bigtime and maybe the shock of hearing how really BAD it's grown there will even drive some Bu$h supporters over the edge at last!

Who knows?
