FED HAS SMASHING TIME IN MIDTOWN

July 22, 2006 -- A State Department worker cruising down 34th Street with three scantily clad women in what appeared to be a government car with flashing lights collided with a yellow cab last night after allegedly running a red light, police said.

The unnamed fed - who was armed according to witnesses - was shouting at other motorists through a public address loudspeaker in the car as he maneuvered his Buick LeSabre westbound in the eastbound lane on East 34th Street at about 11:30 p.m.

"He was yelling, stay to the right, stay to the right, on his loudspeaker with his red light running. And that's when he went through the red light and hit the cab," said Erin Melius, 25. "We were like, 'What is this guy doing?' And then it was like, 'Boom!' "

The witnesses spotted the three young women in the car - as well as a cooler in the backseat and a case of Heineken in the trunk.

All depends on the size and material of the back seat.

With a small enough leather seat, you can put about 20 pounds of ice back there and you'll be good for the night.

Aside from which, if it's a rear-wheel drive, you'll benefit from the extra stability you're going to need when you head up the "off ramps" the wrong way.

One of the great National Lampoon classic articles was "How to Drive Fast on Drugs While Getting Your Wing-Wang Squeezed and not Spill Your Drink."

That should be required reading for ANYONE who ever drives a rental car.

There is nothing that can jump curbs as high or be thrown into reverse gear at a higher rate of forward speed than a rental car.

Makes me giddy every time I hit the Fast Break lane at Budget.

I mean, what good is a gun, a badge and a flashing light on the roof if you can't kick back a few cold ones with a couple of honeys once in a while?

July 23, 2006 - Jason Giuliani, 26, was arraigned on a DWI charge in Manhattan Criminal Court early this morning and released without bail.

Federal law-enforcement sources said Giuliani works in the diplomatic security detail.

Giuliani - who cops said was a Fort Lee, N.J. resident - ran a red light and smashed into a taxi cab on East 34th Street at Lexington Avenue on Friday night at about 11:30 p.m., cops said.

The three young ladies were in the car, but left the scene of the crash before authorities arrived, according to witnesses and a video tape obtained by The Post.

They also took a small brown bag from Giuliani, the tape shows.
