The powers that be do not necessarily represent the people.
George Bush and his administration DO NOT represent me and many peace loving patriotic Americans.
Hezbollah DOES NOT represent many peace loving patriotic Lebonese.
The Israeli Government DOES NOT represent many peace loving Israelis.

4. So what's the point?
Do you pay taxes? Do you vote? How do you change the current system?

Can it be done within the framework set up by those in Power which returns 95% of incumbents (some after being charged with high crimes I looking at you Dan Rostenkowski!) or does it need to be done outside the system?

No matter how many limits, shackles, checks & balances we put upon our betters they will find a way around them, a way to ally themselves with power & money and a way to impose their will upon the People...

The ME situation shows Demagouges still have as much power as they ever had. And that innocent civilians will always bear the brunt of all "noble & justified" WARS...

6. The point is we often paint with a broad brush instead of realizing that
the majority of people are peace loving not war mongering. I'm saying compassion still has a role to play and we are responsible for that.

9. Well Right on, Miss!
Compassion. :applause:

I agree completely which is why we have to take control and not allow the Masters of War to continue forcing/fooling one cobbler into killing another.

5. Amazing that a lot of people refuse to see that
"The people" pay for the actions of their government or leaders...

How easy it is to say "the Bush Regime doesn't represent me!" and not apply that same thinking to others.

Easy, and a shame.

Living in Germany, I hear all the time how "Americans MUST support Bush, he's not in jail and he's still in office" - yeah, many understand that we have no control over Bush's actions because our rights and the rule of law have been turned into a joke.
