Angelides FINALLY running commercials: "He's a leader, not an actor."
After a month-long barrage of commercials from Schwarzenegger's camp deriding Angelides (and even using Steve Westley's words against Angelides) finally now we are seeing commercials for Angelides. And I love the tagline: "He's a leader, not an actor."

2. I must respectfully disagree
I think it's a terrible tag-line. This might've been effective before Arnie got elected, but now he's had most of a full term as governor. To me this just seems like more mud slinging.

I hope Angelides can pull off a win, but this isn't the way to do it, imo. At least he's finally got ads running though!

5. I hoped it would be
something like ... "we liked you in the movies Arnold"
or "go back to the movies Arnold"

12. I agree
Arnie has been in for 3 years so the commericial doesn't make much sense. Also being an actor in CA is nothing to be ashamed off especially since the Democrats don't mind having Hollywood's support.

3. So does he have a shot at winning?
I'm on the other coast so I am clueless as to how the average voter feels
about him

6. I don't believe any of the polls, but a couple of weeks ago they gave a
slight edge to Angelides, but today they are saying Schwarzenegger is 8 points ahead of Angelides. I personally think the race is too volatile to call at this time. But it's obvious that Schwarzenegger camp is spending huge amounts of money already - and I have to admit some of their commercials are very slick, particularly the one with absolutely pristine views of beaches, mountain scenes, deserts showing an idealized, clean, trash-free version of California and trying to give Schwarzenegger credit for it. It's a beautiful commercial and it makes you feel good, although it is a lie to give him any credit for it, and it's also a cleaned-up version of reality.

9. I think he has a shot, but the momentum is on Arnie's side right now
Phil's big advantage is how much Republicans are in the dog-house here in CA. Bush's unpopularity is definitely a drag on Arnie. Arnie's done a fairly good job distancing himself, but it's still a major factor.

10. The joke going around when Ronald Reagan ran against Pat
Brown was, "Why not an actor? We've had a clown for 8 years!"

11. Retread commercial
it's just about like the one Brown ran against Raygun close to 40 years ago, and it didn't help Brown. Angelides is going to have to do better than this if he is going to gain any lost ground. x(

14. Have You Seen the Ad...
...the Republicans are running? The one where they say "Maybe Westly was right"? Shameless, aren't they? Trying to trick people into thinking the ad came from the Democrats...geez.:eyes:

16. Well unfortunately
all those words did come from Democrat Wesley during the primary and the repukes would be missing a great opportunity not to use them. :-(

15. Angeledes must now start connecting Arnold to Ken Lay, Bush, Cheyney, etc.

so people realize that he was and still is a Bush sleaze who has been in the crime family for quite some time. Now, it's time to get down and get busy. Fight the big money republicans no matter what it takes. he has an excellent chance!
