DUMP CONDI:Conservatives Say She Is Incompetent & Has Hijacked Bush Agenda

Dump Condi: Foreign policy conservatives charge State Dept. has hijacked Bush agenda

Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administration’s national security and foreign policy agenda.

The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

"The president has yet to understand that people make policy and not the other way around," a senior national security policy analyst said. "Unlike former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Condi is loyal to the president. She is just incompetent on most foreign policy issues."

The criticism of Miss Rice has been intense and comes from a range of Republican loyalists, including current and former aides in the Defense Department and the office of Vice President Dick Cheney. They have warned that Iran has been exploiting Miss Rice's inexperience and incompetence to accelerate its nuclear weapons program. They expect a collapse of her policy over the next few months.

21. They're probably thinking of her work when she was head of National
Security. Her credibility was certainly, "hijacked." She shouldn't have deferred everything to Cheney, but that's what the job required under the Bush Administration.

Shouldn't she be praised for that? Her own agenda couldn't be any more twisted than his. Or could it?

39. This is all Condi ever was. . .
The hapless person who could take the fall if the Bush pResidency failed.

This is the reason why Powell quit--he woke up and sniffed the brewing coffee in time. . .

8. LMAO
Hypocrites. Nothing but praise for Condi before they needed scapegoats for their failing policies. But mustn't blame it on conservative thinking...it's not the policies, it's the people. LMAO

Well, hope it was worth it for both Powell and Rice...cause now it's time to feed people to the wolves...the ship is sinking, the conservative revolution is blowing up in their faces and somebody has got to pay the price...

How's that "members only" club feel now?

Course, Condi would gladly sacrifice herself for the cause. She's a true believer.

and Powell is no better

20. True...they used her, she allowed herself to be used, and now
she's getting the pay-off for embracing a group of people who never really accepted her.(hence my comment about "how's that members only club feel now?"

but Condi Rice is doing exactly what she wants to be doing. This has all been her choice.

13. Is she incompetent?
The incompetency of the Bush administration start at the top. Bush has made more than one potentially competent person look horrible. The major failure of the people around Bush is their flexibilty to the Bush universe than perhaps their own incompetency. If these people were lead by someone really interested in the world and really interested in the impact of policies I wonder if they would come off as more competent? To be anyone in the Bush whitehouse is to "buy" into the Bush view of the world. Of course to do this is to eventually set yourself up to be the "fall guy". It's this senario that has lead to a sudden inability to find people to join the Bush cabal.

14. "It is time for a new middle east."
Quoted Condi recently.

Here's the full quote:

"It is time for a new Middle East," she said. "It is time to say to those that don't want a different kind of Middle East that we will prevail. They will not."

25. Gingrich, Perle and Cheney want war with Iran and Syria and will accept
nothing less. They didn't pull off 9-11 and murder 3000 people for nothing, you know. They want it and they want it NOW.

I am very happy to see them become more outspoken. It is clarifying who has done what in this maladministration.

26. Agreed, not suprising
that the military wings of the admin are at odds with the diplomatic wings. But in this case it just furthers the obvious rifts and power grabs. Ain't no big secret that Bush and Cheney aren't even reading the same book let alone being on the same page. Bush may control the diplomatic sides (i.e. Rice and Hughes) but Cheney controls the military side (Rumsfeld) and right now we see quite clearly the in fighting that has been going on since day one. And, at least in my opinion, Cheney is winning this fight.

28. The REAL target here is the State Department...
This is the same bunch that thinks the actual career diplomats are too "pro Arab", and spent the first four years cutting them out using Powell as the "respectable" front man.

Now, Condi is incompetent (she demonstrated that as NSA), and she's a failure as SecOfState, but the real goal here is to pin the failed policy not on the White House (where it belongs) but on Foggy Bottom, so thay have the excuse to, as Pat Robertson would say, "drop a nuke on it" and take it out of the decision-making process entirely.

31. Insight Magazine is Moon-owned
Damned if I can figure out *what* their agenda is in all this, but I'm very sure they have one. They're not just a neutral mouthpiece for "some conservatives." It might have something to do with Moon's ties to Bush Sr., or it could be even more obscure.

32. What is interesting is that they think she's too soft.
Here's Newt:

"We are sending signals today that no matter how much you provoke us, no matter how viciously you describe things in public, no matter how many things you're doing with missiles and nuclear weapons, the most you'll get out of us is talk," former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said.

snip

"North Korea firing missiles," Mr. Gingrich said. "You say there will be consequences. There are none. We are in the early stages of World War III. Our bureaucracies are not responding fast enough. We don't have the right attitude."

All these assclowns want is war, war and more war.
