Do you expect a Democratic pick up in your state?
If so, who will that be and is it for House or Senate?

2. Henry Hyde's open seat is in play here in IL
it's the next district to the north of me, and we have a disabled vet (Duckworth) running against a Limbecile. Since Hank has been feeding from the trough for some number of centuries, this would be pretty major.

6. Patty Wetterling has a chance to take the MN-6 seat
as Mark Kennedy is going for Senate and she is going against Michelle Bachmann. Also Tim Walz has a good chance to knock off Gil Gutknecht in MN-1.

9. Dianne "Warmonger" Feinstein is safe
As for our Congressional District, there is a token Democrat running against Radanovich (Cox). He who an office on a busy street, a campaign manager who is not very good at politicspeak (read: won't answer a question). Radanovich should be a shoe-in again (sigh).

10. Oregon will stay the same
There's no U.S. Senate race this year, and our four Democrats out of five in the House won't change.

The Governor (Ted Kulongoski-D) is vulnerable and not especially popular but will likely be re-elected because his Republican opponent is about as charismatic as drying paint and another Republican is running as an independent. Not to mention that the Constitution Party nuts are running their own exreme right candidate, someone who is a former media person and is well-known.

The main fight here is to take back the state House of Representatives from the anti-tax anti-government Repugs one district at a time, and we've got a really good chance at doing just that.

What's up in other states, folks?

11. It's a dead heat in New Mexico between Madrid and Wilson
That would be a great upset and pick up for Dem's if Madrid can pull it off.

The race is for congress.

12. Possible pick up of house seat in Minnesota
Rep. Mark Kennedy is running for Senate.

Child rights advocate Patty Wetterling (Son Jacob
Wetterling was kidnapped from small Central Minnesota town 10+ years ago.) She is a hard working campaigner. Her opponent must be defeated. State Senator Michelle Bachman (google her) has made gay marriage the center point of her campaign, so far Cheney,
Rove, and I think Hassert have done fundraisers for Bachman.

This is a GOP leaning district, Patty ran against Kennedy two years ago. This was her first campaign, many didn't know whether she was dem or rep prior to this race. Even those he was an incumbent, she did well and out-polled Kerry in the District. Will be tough but winnable, given the reputation of Bachman.

Wetterling needs contributions

Edited on Tue Jul-25-06 06:54 PM by undeterred
but unless all the people who say they desperately want change get up off their butts and start volunteering for those campaigns, we probably won't pick up any.

16. Senate's pretty much locked up, I'm worried about governor
I'm worried we'll be stuck with the gubernator (Schwarzenegger) for another four years. :puke:

Right now it looks like he'll beat Angelides by a landslide using standard republican operating procedure - reduce the credibility of your opponent and boil everything down to a worship of money. :grr:

18. No, and we could use some help here in WV!
I'd love nothing more than to see that vile Shelley Moore Capito booted out of office here in WV, but her coffers are filled with cash from RW lobbyists and pals of the Bush cabal. In fact, Bush is coming to our state again for a Capito fundraiser.

If anyone can help us, please visit www.mikewv.com (Mike Callaghan for Congress) and consider making even a small donation (PayPal, too!)

Thanks and wish us luck here in WV.
