Just finished watching "Why We Fight"
and I feel sick.

Just as sick as I did after having watched Fahrenheit 9/11 or The Power of Nightmares or Frontline's Dark Side.

DAMN! Why are so many Americans so goddamned willfully ignorant and apathetic?!?!?!

I know the answer but, still, ARGH!!

1. I saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago
It is definitely an eye-opener. We've been talking about renting it again and inviting some friends over to see it.

the evolution of Eisenhower's thinking...

Boy, though... I cried when the retired policeman lost his son in 911, I cried when he went nutso for vengeance--even getting the military to name a bomb after him, and cried even harder when he came to realize how he'd been duped, watching Bush* admit on tv that there was no connection between Iraq and 911. Of course, I'd seen the horrors of what we did to innocent Iraqi citizens--especially children, given that I actually persue news outside of MSM, but it didn't make me any less horrified.

When Eisenhower made the statement (paraphrased) God help the US if someone with less knowledge of the military sits in this (oval) office and I just became physically ill. As horrendous as Cheney, Perle, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld are, it has always been BIll Kristol that aboslutely makes me fear for our future. He can come across so damned sane while he spews the most insane comments and philosophy. He is truly dangerous.

Dear God, I wish I could make every American see this documentary...So much of it, I was very aware of, but putting it all together is what gives it the impact. It is reallly hard knowing what our government has done in our names over the past many decades--and especially now--- to be proud to be an American. And, that, really makes me cry...
