19. You need to rename the file to add the extension .flv

Then it will recognize it and use the player to view the video on your PC. It really works slick....I've got a whole bunch of Youtube music files saved. Looks like I'll need another hard drive just to store the videotunes....

That would seem to satisfactorily answer the few complaints I've seen. I'll install it a little later and try it out. And I've been looking for a loooong time for a way to save such videos to my HD. Apparently, this will do it. Plenty of room on my HD, but if not, USB HDs are really CHEAP.

After that, I should be able to find a way to burn those files a CD/DVD, and/or convert it to a format to play on my PDAs. My PDAs consist of a Sony TH-55 and a Sharp Zaurus 7000 . I have on order a Palm Treo 700p PDA phone (also Palm OS). "I Miss Monica" will be an early candidate.

Once you get the extension, it also includes a media player. I suggest playing the video online first....that creates a temporary copy on your PC. When you click on the "save video" button in your Firefox toolbar at the bottom of the screen, it brings up another screen with a button that says 'download'. When you click on this, you get a windows prompt asking if you want to play or save it to disk. Click save it to disk and it should create a file icon. It is a "unknown" type of icon until you rename it "whatever.flv". Then it changes the icon to the video player it recognizes.

24. works in Xp but not 2000?

Thank you! I got it to work great at work where I have Windows XP. But it simply will not "turn on" at home where I have Windows 2000. It downloads but the button never shows up. I've looked under Toolbars/Customize, but it's not there.


In the meantime I'm saving lots of good tunes from videos on Youtube!
