"Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was transferred to the intensive care unit at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer on Wednesday.

Sharon, who is harboring an infection, is receiving antibiotics and is hooked up to a dialysis machine to regulate the fluids that have accumulated in his body, due to declined kidney function.

In a statement, the hospital said Sharon was taken to an emergency care unit to drain fluids in his body."
