3. My local newspaper is mad at them
The same paper that can usually can't be bothered to report about Dems (they must think if they ignore them, they'll go away) is suddenly up in arms over the way CT Dems have done such a disservice to Sen. Lieberman. :nopity: CT Dems must be doing something right if they have the PD upset.

4. BTW, did Lieberman vote yesterday to make it a federal crime to
assist a pregnant adolescent across statelines to obtain an abortion in a state without parental notification laws?

Just asking . . .

11. no, he did not
he was one of the 34 that voted against it:

Fourteen Democrats and 51 Republicans voted for the bill. Four Republicans voted against it: Sens. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, Susan Collins of Maine, Olympia Snowe of Maine and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., was absent.

Connecticut Sens. Christopher Dodd and Joseph Lieberman were among the 29 Democrats who voted against passage.

12. I think my LTTE the other day tells you who I'm voting for
The problem started with Lieberman's article in the Wall Street Journal, in which he told Democrats to accept Bush as president and that if we criticize Bush, we are undermining the war effort. It seems odd that he singled out Democrats. Does this mean that if I register Republican, I can strongly criticize the war effort like ultra-conservative Sen. Chuck Hagel?

Lieberman's Iraq problem continues as he spouts off long-debunked Republican talking points as justification for the war. Earlier this month, he was praising the impressive progress that was being made in Iraq. Meanwhile, death squads and militias roam the streets as conditions in Iraq are rapidly getting worse.

To many, Sen. Lieberman's view of Iraq - seen through rose-colored glasses - means that he is being either intentionally dishonest or completely divorced from reality.

Although many Democrats did vote to authorize war in 2002, none of them have been as stridently supportive as Lieberman has of the White House and the massive train wreck that is Iraq. None have announced an independent run if they lose their Democratic primary, either.

I think I should have patented "divorced from reality" before Joe Conason could use it! ;-)
