Democrats meet about Alito within hours. Call now!

AMERICAN WAY -- Special Hearing Update
January 18, 2006
______________________________________________________________

Yesterday, we urged you to call Democratic senators and their
leaders before they meet to decide their Alito strategy.

This meeting happens around noon today!

If you haven't called to say you're counting on senators to do
everything possible to defeat this nomination, do so right now!

Call toll free, (877) 851-6437.

If you've already called your senators or if neither of them is
a Democrat, ask for Democratic Leader Harry Reid and Senator
Patrick Leahy, leader of the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee.

While the press is reporting that some senators seem to think
you won't mind if they fail to do everything possible to defeat
Alito, newspapers from coast to coast are opposing Alito's
confirmation. If confirmed, Alito will likely condone the abuse
of power by the president, vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, and
help curtail Congress' ability to protect the health, safety,
and welfare of the American people.

Call your Democratic senator(s) or Senators Reid and Leahy right
now while your activism will have its greatest impact -- right
now.

(877) 851-6437
