I guess since the American government under Bush has acted like pre-WWII Germany, then Arabs must be the new Jew. We certainly have categorized all Arab countries and Arabs as enemies, or terrorists. You've got to have someone to hate, and instead of the Jews, our government has decided to wage its rhetorical war on Arabs. Arabs = Terrorists.
You have to prop someone up to hate so you can make big money in your family's oil and defense industries. The Bushes have done so.
So, we have Arabs....The new Jews. It'd be a great slogan if it weren't just a little abstract in print.

1. Did Jews fly planes into American towers and the pentagon? |
|
And did Jews around the world dance in the streets to celebrate the attack?

Are all Arabs in ghettos or forced labor camps? How many countries are ruled by Arabs? Who is Bushco closely aligned with in the oil business? This is not the same as hating people because they refuse to accept Christ (well, it is for the fundies but not for everyone).

of bush strolling hand in hand with Saudis tends to undercut your argument. The U.S. has close ties with several muslim and Arabic nations.

groups, one being "Arabs". The others include Persians and lesser subgroups of Semites, such as Palestinians.
Second, groups that want recognition as persecuted are case-specific. Although they share a trait of repression, hostility, and persecution, it depends upon the oppressor as well as the targeted group. One group of persecuted people is not necessarily equivalent with another persecuted group. The debate should be whether a demographic should be allowed to persecuted in the first place or whether international apathy is the best policy while sovereign nations work out their internal problems with their populations. And again, this is case specific or the persecution should never be allowed, period.
Back to the original supposition: Arabs are not the "new Jews". I hope there is wisdom attained from such historical cruelty and that wisdom saves the lives of other people in distress.

I believe the arabs are killing the africans in that particular mess. I am not sure who is killing who in Somalia, but one thing is clear, religion kills a lot of people.
