Israel agression
House Democrats are demanding that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki not be allowed to address a joint session of Congress on Wednesday unless he apologizes for condemning "Israeli aggression" in Lebanon.

In a letter being circulated among their colleagues, party leaders including Rahm Emanuel and Jan Schakowsky say, "We are unaware of any prior instance where a world leader who actively worked against the interests of the United States was afforded such an honor."

I oppose Israel aggression too. And if any Democratic politician, or anyone else wants me to apologize, they can stuff it. Better take your AIPAC money, because you're not getting mine. You may not get my vote either unless you stop pandering and start working for peace and an end to the neocon agenda.

2. I'm also taking a closer look at my Democratic Representatives
Those who are not personally invested with pro-Israeli lobbies may be getting my vote down the road.

I have nothing against Israel, but I'll be damned if I will send my beloved children to kill and die for their continued aggressive war plans. :(

Edited on Wed Jul-26-06 10:56 AM by CuteNFuzzy
apparently killing civilians, burning kids in the face with chemical weapons, and murdering UN peacekeepers is just fine with you

And for anyone that disagrees with that assessment, explain how any reasonable person can possibly conclude otherwise?

5. What I find terribly amusing
is the insistance by Bush that we've created a democracy in Iraq, not a puppet state. But when the elected head of Iraq voices an opinion that is opposed by Bush and others, he is condemned. The most they should have done is to say we disagree--unless Maliki is, indeed, merely a lackey who has ignored the wishes of his masters.

6. Yeah, but I think the Democrats got their marching orders this
morning as they all showed up for his speech today and cheered him on.

8. This troubles me
In a letter being circulated among their colleagues, party leaders including Rahm Emanuel and Jan Schakowsky say, "We are unaware of any prior instance where a world leader who actively worked against the interests of the United States was afforded such an honor."

How can they twist this around to: "who actively worked against the interests of the United States"

There are American interests and there Israel interests - they are different. When our congress people start confusing them, they are working for a foreign government. Some of them have completely forgot who they are suppose to be representing.

9. Swear to God. There is some mass confusion and delusion on the Hill
about who is being REPRESENTED.

10. I May Be Out In Left Field Here... But I Just Don't Understand Why
Dems are so quick to make THIS move and have hid behind a rock on so many others. What's the point, and what good will come of it?

I think I'm missing something here. I'm totally against war and killing but why are these Dems doing this right now! I'm plenty mad at Israel myself and have many questions about what THEY are doing... but to me these "very few" Dems who are making waves just looks like confusion to me.

I think somebody needs to enlighten me a bit.

11. It is amazing that PNAC and the Bush-Carlyle type groups
get away with their axis of friends.

I am not sure whether I see it as a triangle or a see-saw.

If a triange:

One point include the House of Saud/Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait.

At the second point we have Israel.

At the third point we have US - sometimes with the UK.

When I see it as a see-saw:

Israel is at one end. House of Saud, Pakistan, Jordan, Qatar, etc. at the other. US US sitting in the middle keeping the balance.

But, as of yesterday - we have the US-Iraq partnership flipping things a bit.

I support anyone who opposes killing and does something about it, but how doe our leaders oppose killing and sanction it.

We are citizens of one really messed PNAC-baron backed shadow-sub government.

See what happens when we assume?

Assume our vote will be counted?
Assume the leaders we voted for work for us and not the corporations?
