Men may be banned from daring to bare their chests
This is being considered in the UK . Apparently the heat wave has meant too many shirtless guys and some with some bothersome bellies.

6. Males are just a variation of females?
I can't imagine why such a variation would be necessary except, maybe, for the production of more females...oh, and to move heavy stuff.

9. That would be nice for aesthetic reasons, if not so much for human rights.

Unattractive nudity is bad mmmmmkaaaay. Some people, you just want to go up to them and say "Jeez, cover the fuck UP!" But you can't, really, just as you can't legislate people to have a sense of occasion. But who gets to decide what is too fat -- the fashion police? And what, after all, would chubby-chasers do without their outlet?

5. I bet this is really a law to keep women from going topless.
Legally you can't have a double standard, so they're going to make everyone put a shirt on.

10. Luckily, women in Ontario can legally go topless wherever they want.
As a rule, though, they decline to do so, except for some who really shouldn't. But it's nice to know they can if they so choose, because it's in the interests of sexual equality.

On the other hand, getting obese people to keep their flab hidden, whether male or female, would considerably lower the "ewww" level in society, and that's not such a bad thing.

12. It's a creepy precendent, though.
If fat people have to cover up, how about ugly people?

It's apparently legal for women to go topless in my town, too. That became apparent when a cop tried to give a ticket to some women sunbathing au naturel in the city park. Sorry guy: if it's legal for men, then it's legal for women too -- otherwise it's discrimination.

Of course, few women want to deal with the ogling. I don't have much to ogle at, but I'd rather walk through a snake pit than walk past a construction site with no shirt on.

11. Nope -- fat asses and thunder-thighs.
Not that painted-on jeans and really short shorts leave that much to the imagination anyway.
