Yates Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity

I just broke down in sobs when I saw the judge read the verdict.
It finally came out right.

One of the commentators said it was a good verdict even though
it did not go according to "law." I agree.

He said it was easier to get a better jury this time because the death
penalty wasn't on the table, so jurors against the death penalty were
not eliminated... making the jury more liberal and sympathetic.

It's way past time for the death penalty to go... but it won't... this is Texas.

Houston is OK sometimes, though.

4. They might or...
they might spread the blame around; to her husband, her family and her church, all of whom knew she was in trouble and didn't step in. Or do you think psychotics are responsible for their actions?

7. She was diagnosed with
post partum psychosis after the first baby and both she and her husband were strongly advised not to have any more. She also was not supposed to be left alone with the kids.

So who insisted she stay pregnant? Who left her alone with the kids, knowing what the outcome was likely to be?

It's horrible that the kids are dead. It's worse to know that it could have been avoided.

3. The death of five children is extremely tragic
but Andrea Yates was psychotic when she killed them. Even under Texas' almost impossible to prove insanity plea Yates was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Harris County is an extremely conservative pool of jurors. They listened to the experts from both sides and came to the only logical conclusion.

5. That Husband is a Menace.
Give a woman five children, don't lift a finger to help, and demand they all be home schooled? And he gets married again?

He should be sterilized. He's a rapist.

6. Find some pictures of him at the funeral
of the kids. Check out the smile on his face. A very SATISFIED smile.
