I've got to say re Tucker
I never expected to see him in the middle of the latest devastation in Tyre.
Says the bombing is profound -says it was a neighbourhood was completely flattened. Many, many buildings were destroyed and it was not 'precise' bombing. Says he does not know if weapons were there, clearly Hizbollah is in charge and they told him a school, a sports club, a Mosque were there and while he does not know, he does know that many people were killed.

I did not think bow tie boy had this much guts-seriously. He even said that a F-16 was flying above and they would not stay for long. Clearly he's still an MSM boy but I guess seeing the destruction has jolted him a bit.

He says Americans in Lebanon blame Bush for putting them in harm's way. Discussion on this coming up after the break.

1. James Zogby was interviewed
he is letting (F)ucker have it. He said Israel deliberately targeted the UN and listed details precedent. When Tucker says that would be barbaric he said don't get me started on barbaric - the entire world except the US sees what's going on in Lebanon as barbaric.

You must hear this interview during the repeat.

I was surprised when the "new" Tucker showed up.

4. When he was in Israel,
a Lebanese official was saying that the MSM is not showing how devestated Lebanon is. And Tucker said that he knows that, and it's hard to get into the country, but he's going to go to Beirut to see what the damage really is. He got a little bit of respect from me for that.

13. I just watched the BBC news and they showed all the
bombed out streets as well as the victims in the Beirut University hospital, mostly children and young people. One eight year old girl lost an eye, two brothers and her father.

Pity. I'm so disgusted and disheartened.

5. Tucker is just trying to counterbalance Anderson Cooper
Networks like to groom their young people.. Tucker needed "gravitas".. If he makes it back alive, he will now have "war stories" to tell, and will have climbed a bit higher on the ladder..

One good thing though.. Perhaps he will begin to see why so many people are against war

7. he said he was shocked by Bush's attitude towards Carla Faye Tucker
I never watch his show so I don't know much about him, but I do remember reading in Salon that he thought Bush's mocking her before her execution ("Please don't kill me," tee hee hee) was heartless.

I think it's great that he's there--both because of the guts it must take and because some Republicans might give a little more thought to what's happening if one of their own is saying it's terrible.

8. Tucker needs to stay there and earn his stripes!
It won't hurt him to get blown up a time or two for the cause, hell it will put some hair on his wimpy chest!

10. I guess Crossfire did me in on his whining and making excuses
for the right wing's criminal crap. Cheering on people that he's bound to have known were trashibg the country, is unforgivable to me.

12. Well, he has to do something different to keep his career.
He was truly circling the drain.

If taking journalism seriously is the way he chooses to stay viable, well, more power to him. I can't stand the guy, but if he's willing to change, I'll give him a chance.
