Parents... stick to your gut instincts.....
Edited on Wed Jul-26-06 04:49 PM by halobeam
I did. I said, no you can't go to Splish Splash, you made a committment to your grandfather.

This would've been the ride he took to get there....

All my sons friends... all mild injuries except one with some broken bones, but nonetheless... they can all count their blessings... I will certainly count mine tonight.

on edit: I have to tell him when he gets home. He's had so many things happen in his life to people he cares about it's hard.

1. You could never get me into a car full of teenagers, with a teen
driving.

Yipes!!!

Thank goodness everyone is all right.

2. Especially with a teen driving an SUV!
Glad everyone is going to be OK, and sometimes that inner voice we hear is the one we need to obey. There is a reason it appears when it does.

3. That's frightening, and I'm glad that all are OK.
I was involved in a vehicle roll-over when I was just 13, while on a camping trip with a friend's family.

My mother was terrified for weeks by what didn't happen to me. I hope that you don't allow yourself to be tortured by such thoughts.

Thank goodness that all are okay.

6. Thanks for the piece of advice... I am a bit shook up,
but that's to be suspected.. fate can do that to you sometimes. I'll be fine.. I feel sorry for all involved, the nightmares the kids will have, etc... it's emotionally traumatizing.

9. Yeah, what a job, man... the other pics were of the kids laid out
in stretchers all in a row... messed up looking. I'll keep the visuals away from my son. He was fishing w/ my Dad, and just called they are on their way home. Will hug him when he gets here, and when he drives me nuts tonight. I WILL SMILE.

8. My story......
I was going away for a weekend campout. My teenage daughter and her boyfriend wanted me to rent them a car.

Well, I was smart enough to know better than rent a car and give it to them. I did rent one for me and left my car with them.

Bottom line, they wrecked my car! It still shows up on MY insurance when I go for a new policy years later.

At least, by not letting them use the rental, I wasn't stuck with the cost of the wreck; my company paid, but they weren't happy.

14. If they got out of THAT with broken bones
they were wearing seat belts.

Somebody did something right with that crew.

16. Thats right.
I have a friend who thinks you have more chance of getting "stuck" in your car with your seat belt on when you might need to get out fast, than the chance of the seat belt "saving" you.

Incredible. She will not hear reason.

15. ALWAYS listen to your gut instincts!! I am so glad that your son was not
there, and that everyone else is pretty much okay. that had to be frightening.

whenever I have NOT listened to that "still, small voice", I have regretted it, so believe me, I pay attention!!

17. Thanks. My son talked to his best friend, and he said his friend
sounded subdued, like he didn't absorb it all yet. I bet that's on target. I know the Moms were all on Valium last night. I know I'd have been. "small voice" is always the one to listen to.
