Poll: World Doesn't Respect Bush
60% In CBS/NY Times Poll Say President Not Respected By Foreign Leaders

NEW YORK, July 26, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(CBS/AP)

Mr. Bush's overall approval rating remains low — and in an additional diplomatic concern, most Americans (60 percent) now think he is not respected by foreign leaders.

That number is down significantly since just before the Iraq war began in 2003, when about half of Americans thought Mr. Bush was respected around the world.

5. They had to do a poll to figure that out? Kind of stupid anyway to
poll Americans about what the rest of the world thinks about Bush. Why don't they poll the rest of the world. I'll bet he does a lot worse that 60% not respecting him.

10. They had to do a poll to figure that out? . . . worse than 60 % not....
I agree 100%. It was less than 10% of the world's nations that followed him into Iraq. And that was before all of his subsequent stupidities made it clear to even some Republicans that he was a bad, bad choice... I guess they're now realizing the truth of that old saying: You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

6. Because these world leaders can see that ** is an ignorant
ass and obviously not up to the task of being a legitimate world leader. I'm sure they all just can't wait to get through any conversation/meeting that they must have with the idiot.

13. 47% ?
"Americans generally approve of President Bush's handling of the current Mideast crisis, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll..." (snip)

and,

"More Americans (47 percent) said they approve of how Mr. Bush has handled the conflict so far than disapprove (27 percent), but one in four said it's too early to form an opinion."

So less than 50% signifies "general approval" by "more Americans"? I see CBS is up to their usual unbiased polling again.

:sarcasm:

15. Expect any Respect?
The average american has lost world respect because they have themselves been disrespectful of the world. The average american electing someone like the present administration certainly became the last straw! It will likely take a century for the US to regain any of the world to actually hold any respect for this nation, but the world will continue to use this nation for aid and abuse.
