I would like to apologize to Palestinian DU'ers...

I have been disgusted and appalled by some of the comments here over the last week. Please know that there are many non-Palestinians who support Palestine fully and understand that none of this would be occurring without Israel terrorism having instigated it.

I don't understand the mindset that condemns civilian casualties in retaliatory attacks, but fails to condemn the years of terrorism that preceded it.

Please remember that virtually the entire Democratic leadership in this country stands with you, it is easy to forget that when you spend a couple of hours reading some of the posts written here in the last few days.

Most of all, let's hope for peace. Both the Israelis and their surrounding neighbors deserve it after all these years of bloodshed.

8. I'd also like to apologize to Israeli DUers...

...who get lumped in with the terrorists so often for the actions of the state of Israel, though it's usually ignorance of the historical, cultural and religious implications of Israel coupled with outrage at the violent retaliation here on DU. This is a difficult and emotional time for everyone involved, and I hope we can continue to keep an open dialogue about it here in hopes that some kind of understanding can be reached.
