A letter to my chicken-hawk Senator.
Dear Senator Chambliss,

As a concerned citizen and fellow Georgian, I feel duty-bound to alert you to a bit of information I recently stumbled upon. I was reading American Theocracy, by former Republican strategist Kevin Phillips, and was stopped dead in my tracks on page 77. In a passage concerning a meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney’s National Energy Policy Group, it is revealed that a map of Iraqi oil fields, along with a list of foreign suitors for oilfield contracts, settled upon, or under some form of discussion, was used in this very secretive gathering. This meeting was held in 2001, before the 911 attacks and well before all the talk about Saddam and his WMD’s.

I’m quite sure this is not news to you, but it most certainly would be an eye opener to the majority of conservative Americans who voted for President Bush. I’m referring to the delusional Bible thumping lot of course, the gravy-brain corn-pone creationists who bought into this whole “good vs. evil” nonsense, and the WMD scare campaign. What would happen if these people found out that the whole Iraq thing was about oil—just like the hippie protesters alleged? I’m sure we don’t have to worry about these morons actually reading American Theocracy, they’re still moving their lips to the Left Behind series. What we do need to worry about is the damn liberal media finding out about this and running with it like it was some missing blond or something. Come to think of it, I wonder why they haven’t already; they’re certainly not living up to their stereotype.

Anyway, I just wanted to alert you to some potential trouble around the corner, give you and your associate’s time to make something up to counter the story.

1. He stopped reading half way through....
A point can not be made through hate and foul language. It can only be made with intelligent thoughts. Bashing and sarcasm is almost always ignored just as it is here on the DU.

I understand it, but we can only adjust and change the current state of our world through well said (and dare I say PC) speaking and writing.

I live your frustration and anger everyday just as you do, but we must be the "bigger person" and fight our causes in a positive way. I know it's hard, but we can triumph with some care. (maybe a few large protests wouldn't hurt though) :)
