Making it in George Bush's America |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-27-06 07:16 AM by bluestateguy
How are Americans surviving in George Bush's America? That should be the primary focus of our news media these days. I'm getting by OK, though it could be easier. I know that others are having a very hard time.
I'm trying my best to ignore, yes ignore, this little spat in the Middle East because it does not strike me as being of concern to America. We have to let those people sort out their own ethno-religious conflicts and worry about our problems here at home.
Those problems include, but are not limited to:
Health care
Minimum Wage
Outsourcing of jobs
Job Security
The gas crisis
Skyrocketing costs of college
Environment
Rising crime rates

1. Gas prices are hurting the middle-class in a big way... |
|
...and that affects just about every item on your list. :(

2. Plus the effect of rising Fuel prices. It's estimated that the added... |
|
..rise in fuel costs will hit the average consumer to the tune of 4,670.00 dollars per year. (costs at the pump + rise in prices caused by transportation and heating)
SO.. essentially, folks are taking a "Cut" in their salary of over 4 1/2 grand. Not a pretty picture.. :(
