Mobil-Exxon: Profits $10 BILLION!
That's $1,318 per SECOND.

And they aren't gouging the public at the pumps. Yeah, right. I believe that one. Where's my turnip truck? :eyes:

Meanwhile, new production hasn't kept pace with surging demand - not only from the United States, but from China, India and other rapidly growing economies - which has driven prices up nearly fourfold, from around $20 a barrel in early 2002 to a trading high of $78.40 earlier this month on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Notice that the United States is competing with China for oil. China's economy is doing very well, due in large part to WAL-MART. Wal-Mart is one of China's biggest consumers.

DON'T SHOP AT WAL-MART, AMERICA. YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT WHEN YOU FILL UP.

ConocoPhillips announced a 65% increase in profits yesterday...people need to stop being sheep, and start complaining about being taken advantage of at the pumps.

5. That works out to be $79,080.00 per minute or 43.8% greater that
...BP's $55,000.00 per minute profit. That's $134,080.00 profits per minute for just two oil companies. How many other Big Oil companies have yet to report their profits for the past quarter? Six or eight others? More, fewer? But, it appears that in total the oil companies together are reaping in excess of a half of a million dollars in profits per minute 24/7.

Making annualized profits of a half of a trillion dollars strikes me as obscenely excessive no matter how big oil attempts to justify their margins.
