Clicking On The Phone Again Last Night
when i was talking to a friend there was the clicking again.

this has happened several times during calls i've had w/a friend of mine--
it occurs late at night (after midnight)

the first time it happened that was extremely noticeably was a few months ago--he asked me: "do you hear that? what is all that clicking?"

hey, nsa! CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???

raise your hand if you've heard the clicks on your phone during conversations

2. Modern government taps don't click
because they record digitally, not with a tape deck and noisy transport connected to an answering machine.

If you are being recorded, you won't know it by listening to the line.

10. For psyops purposes, they insert artificial clicks just to mess with you.

4. On my home phone, yes
Embarq (formerly Sprint) is my home phone carrier and I hear clicks on every conversation, day or night.
T-Mobile is my cell phone carrier - zero clicks.

7. Actually, yes, about 4-5 years ago in early 2001. My friend's
phone was tapped by his brother-in-law. He heard the clicks. We tricked his brother-in-law to admit he had the phone tapped by having a staged conversation with information that would enrage his brother-in-law. It worked. Brother-in-law had a fit and called my friend on the info that he only would have gotten by way of our staged call.

8. Yes
But it quit after the phone company replaced some old phone line. It was old lead line that was wrapped in paper. And it hasn't recurred - which is probably related to the crotchety old neighbor that shoots the squirrels with his BB gun.

Personally, I'm more concerned about what I can't hear. With today's technology there would not necessarily be clicks or static to indicate conversations were being monitored.

12. My thoughts also. "Clicking" phone taps are so 1960s and 1970s.
Nixon, Kissinger, G. Gordon Liddy, the Plumbers, and all that.

house to see if we were picking up the phone or something. I asked him why he thought that and he said he keeps hearing clicking noises on the phone and it was freaking him out. I told him it was probably the NSA wiretap screwing up and he just giggled and went his merry way. I was serious, but he didn't realize it. ;) Yes, my son has heard it, but I haven't.
