Those catapulting the propaganda non-stop are extremely tiresome and tiring.

trying to convince others that Israel has a right to bomb children and rescue services, then someone really should take the time to counter the falsities

2. How weary do you think the Lebannese people are of having their |
|
whole freaking country bombed to near extinction every time they manage to put the pieces back together again?
How tired of having warring factions use their lands, homes, and families for expendable chess pieces do you think they are?

11. Perhaps, but it seems to me that the Lebannese are more vitims |
|
than perpetuators. And Israel does nothing to ensure peaceful coexistance in the area. For every step forward they make (and I believe a sizeable portion of the population in Israel would rather have peacful coexistance), the right wing does something that moves them ten or more paces backwards.
Including killing their own (Prime Minister Rabin done by a right winger who did not want peace with the Palestinians).
There are no "good guys" in the area any more. There are only the haters/warmongers and the victims on both sides.

Would it be alright with you if we got some planes and started bombing Virginia?
(No, me neither, but I trust you get my point.)

3. I simply question how constructive it is at this point. |
|
I don't think any minds are being changed, or that posting pictures of every dead civilian in the conflict is doing anything to stop it. When I get sick enough of a thread, I'll just ignore it, so I don't really have a horse in this race, except to challenge those who feel that beating us over the heads with it is doing any good.

We are as powerless over this issue as we are over anything the Bush Regime touches. I would rather see a focus on cutting the poisonous, festering abscess out of the White House. Until that particular terrorist is dealt with, we can't do a damn thing. Our own country is so weakened at this point that we are unable to help anyone else.

6. why do you hate Israel |
|
don't you know that Hezbollah would murder and devour every baby in Israel if they had the chance?
blah blah blah . . .
in other words, I'm sick of it. It's a wedge and a distraction and a prelim to the preemptive strike against Iran.

10. I chose "moderately tired" |
|
I am not at all tired of covering the news and honnest debate--we should be doing that. I am, however, extremely tired of the never-ending stream of threads full of strawmen arguments, broadbrush statements, and accusations thrown at DUers that sound as though they could have origionated at the WH ala Tony Snow telling Helen Thomas,(loose quote) "Thank you for the Hezbollah side of the story". Let be be clear that I am not calling any of the DUers who have engaged in any of the above behavior freepers or trolls. This is a sensative, complex issue that gets DUers passions up. I am pleading for reasoned discussion.
