Sooo...You say you have "nothing to hide". Freepers please read!

Are you really in control of what gets put in your file?
*You go to the Right church,

*You never criticize the government

*You pay your taxes

*You always vote The Right Way

*You "Support the Troops"

*You NEVER talk to terrorists on the phone

*You believe that the President is above the Law

All-in-All, you consider yourself to be "A Good American". You have nothing to hide, and the government is welcome to read your mail, listen to your phone conversations, and keep a secret file on you.

Have you ever wondered how things get in your secret file?
The government now has an incredible capacity for collecting and cross indexing vast amounts of data on individuals. Most of this data is unverified and simply gets put in the file.
You will NEVER see the file.
You will NEVER have the opportunity to correct the file.
You will NEVER know what is in the file.

You may be in control of your life, but what about the things you can't control?

*What about your wacky uncle who attends protests? He has the same last name as you!
Simply having the same last name got people removed from the voting rolls in Florida in 2000.

*You have a bad sheep kid who got in trouble in school? Nothing serious, boys will be boys?
How will that be written up in YOUR file?

*What about your niece who had an abortion? You didn't even know about it.
YOU vote Pro-Life, but your niece's abortion can turn up in YOUR file.

*Remember that time you accidentally got stopped for speeding , and you were a little sharp with the officer?
That's going to look good in YOUR file.

*You know that "Fringe Hippie Liberal" that lives down the block?
Do you know that he filed a report on you that states that you have a Che poster in your garage, and that you secretly collect money to fund Leftist groups in South America.
Sure its not true, but it DOES go in YOUR file.

and YOU won't be able to do a fucking thing about it....in fact, you won't even know about it!
ALL you will know is that LIFE will be harder for YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!

*Your son or daughter didn't get that scholarship?

*Your son or daughter wasn't admitted to that school?

*You are denied that research grant?

*You are refused a zoning permit?

*Your company is refused a government contract?

*You are repeatedly audited by the IRS?

*You are passed over for that promotion?

* You are refused the loan for the new house in that exclusive neighborhood?

*The HardDrive from your computer disappears one afternoon?

*You LOSE a lawsuit that is a sure win?

*You are denied travel on an airline?

*You are denied accommodations when traveling?

*You are temporarily arrested for walking too close to a Security Zone.

These things AND MORE can happen when a Political Party controls the governmental database!!!!

Sure, most of that information is out there,, but NOW it is being compiled into a central government database. The government (especially under One Party control) will use it to advance its agenda. It will make sure that only "the right kind of people" advance in their America?

A centralized governmental database will be ETERNALLY HUNGRY. It will GROW automatically. Those whose lives are about feeding the monster will AUTOMATICALLY find MORE to feed it. Your Party affiliation, your campaign contributions, your religious preference, your favorite TV shows, your medical records....AND MORE WILL find its way into this database....AND a ONE PARTY government WILL USE IT to make sure that only the right kind of people do well in America!!!

Are you a GOOD American?
Do you REALLY have no problem with the government spying on you?
Do you REALLY think secret government files on citizens is a GOOD idea?

You think the above won't ever happen here???
You are wrong.
People are already being pulled out of line,
and refused seat on airlines after checking a central database!!!
people are being refused admission to Security Zones based on the secret database!!!
AND it is getting worse.

but you have nothing to hide!!!

I may be filing a secret anonymous report on YOU this afternoon.
It will be filled with LIES,
but YOU won't EVER KNOW!

2. You don't have to go any further than your credit report
How many mistakes are there on our credit reports, many of them. They simply put bad credit on a SIMILAR, name, address, ss# or a Jr. It takes weeks and months to have these removed. Idenity theft, that goes on your credit report, now anyone who steals anothers identity and breaks the law with your name will go into a file, one which you will not see, one that can not be cleared up in time to get on that airplane to make it to your son or daughters wedding. Anyone with a common name beware, the Smiths, Jones and Johnson's out there goodluck, I know because my 18 year old son was denied boarding until he got a special clearance on Christmas Day, last nmae Johnson

6. EXCELLENT POINT...One I used with my son 20 years ago..
My son, now a repug (unfortunately) when young had a knife collection and included was a Marine Corps K-Bar which he took to school to show off. Was caught with it and I had to go to school and pick him up. (This was before all those horrid school killings)

He was neat as a pin..sort of like Senfield. He and a friend used to go around his friends neighborhood to houses being built..what a wonderful thing to do as a kid!!! They were in a house that had been vandalized when the police showed up. They were brought home in a police car and since they did not have anything on thenm that could have been used to vandalize and they swore they had just been going through all the houses being built, the police believed them, but wrote them up?? (Or so the police said).

He then skipped school with a buddy and his buddy's mom's car was in the garage, and they deciede to go for a joy ride. My son drove. The mom pressed charges against my son for 'stealing' the car even though HER son gave him the keys and HER son with him in the car.

Anyway, before we went to court I explained to my son, that as his mother I understood all these seperate incidents but to a judge who did not know my son from a THUG the only info he would see would be:

Caught in school with a weapon
Caught in a vandalized house
Caught driving a stolen car

Taken out of context he looked like a juvenille delinquent! Just as you posted above, any info taken out of context can make you look GUILTY as SIN!

it only makes sense to provide them real-world fears to replace the phony phears from the administration. K&R!

14. another obvious problem when we don't respect the rule of law
If they can decide what's right or wrong--anything you do or are can be found to be wrong. Maybe they'll decide that anyone with brown eyes is inferior and needs to be controlled. Maybe they will make all brown-eyed people wear stars on their coats so that the authorities can better watch them. You see where I'm going with this.

In a world where the government can spy on you without warrants or due process, anything is possible. Remember in 1984 when Parsons was turned in to the Thought Police over a report by his kids? That could easily happen in our world. Some neighbor gets in a snit and decides to claim he saw you talking to people with "turbans", and next thing you know you are spending time in Gitmo. A long, long time--because they will keep you there until you confess the crimes you committed, even if you didn't commit any. Where you go after that is anybody's guess.

But hey, we're fighting the war on terror, right? :eyes:

22. The outcomes that you mention are soft abuses. The ones that
have to be worried about are the hard abuses. If you have bad policies you are asking for these types of abuses to happen. If they don't happen now they will happen later. Someone will take power if they are given it.

25. bvar22, I borrowed this
and sent it to a few people; all credit to you of course. The only response I've gotten so far is from my psycho step-grandma in Florida. She didn't have much to say, just, and I quote here, "I can't say I agree with Uncle Sam all the time but I do have enough common sense to know that the goverment doesn't cause kids to fail in school nor does the government cause people to be fat lazy couch potatoes except by giving them too much for too long. That is one thing I disagree with Uncle Sam. I have nothing to hide from Uncle Sam nor anyone else. Do you?"

I asked her again, for the 6th time in the past several months, to permanently remove my name from her address book. It's a total waste of my time to read anything she sends me.

But, there are some people still out there (like me 6 or 7 years ago) who are looking for the truth and just need someone to show them the way. Keep up your great work! I could never organize my thoughts into such order so I appreciate people like you who let me use their words to describe my thoughts. Thank you!

28. Feel free to use.
Edit if you wish (it needs some). :)

I'm not interested in the credit.
I am interested only in bringing down this administration, and reforming the Democratic Party so that it once again represents the interests of the Working Class.
Thanks...:patriot:

In EVERY case, "Barriers to Trade" and "Restrictions on Corporations" were created to protect something valuable!

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.
