but I (and you and all of us) have endured two straight weeks of YOU REVEL IN THE DEATHS OF LEBANESE followed by YOU REVEL IN THE DEATHS OF PALESTINIANS followed by YOU REVEL IN THE DEATHS OF ISRAELIS...

...and so, my thing is pretty simple. I'd like to establish a no-reveling-in-death zone for a bit, if possible. It isn't about Coulter.

80. Thank goodness
I'm sure if I read on more people will say no, but you were the first no I read and I am glad to see it.

I live in a no-reveling-in-death zone. That's not the same as grieving or speaking nice of the dead or honoring them if they are people I dislike.

It is sort of like being against the death penalty...not because I have compassion for everyone...it's about that it lowers us.

Ann is disgusting but there are disgusting people in the world. What is worse is that people buy her books, agree with her. She doesn't make them what they are and her death would not make them saner or kinder.

I mostly ignore Ann and her ilk.

I save my reveling for life and joy filled things.

I revel in NO to reveling in death.

I vividly remember joy being expressed that Mr. Reagan had died. I never liked or voted for Reagan. In fact, I detested his policies and his administration. But the day he died was a shameful day for Democratic Underground. Celebrations in the virtual streets. I remember that a formerly very prominent DU'er expressed her agreement with me on this. (I stress that this member was not tombstoned, but has apparently retreated to the periphery for her own reasons.)

like stupidity. Those who would choose to celebrate would certainly need to grow the heck up.

That's just my opinion though. I think it is always disrespectful to take any joy, let along a 'celebration', in any human being's demise.

On edit: For sake of clarifying for those who may be rigidly literal, I mean taking malicious joy and engaging in malicious celebration, k?

On edit, it's not the same as dancing on someone's grave because even though you might be happy, you still are lifting a toast to them that they will find peace.

Celebrating the death of someone because you do not agree with them seems rather distasteful, to me.

IMO.

Though I think some will anyway. I don't get the whole joy-at-death, personally.

For the wise guys who want to crack jokes about 'dunno if she is human', just don't. They've been done ad-fucking-nauseum.

65. So she calls for my death.
Edited on Thu Jul-27-06 08:19 PM by Random_Australian
There are many people who call for my death, for belonging to various groups. I would like it if they were converted to something more peaceful.

That they stop calling for your death is good, but dying isn't something that is good, ifyou see what I mean.

I don't particulalry care whether she is dying, true, but mostly because I use my concern on the large amounts of people who are really suffering. :)

Meh. Celebration just seems like crossing a boundary to me.

Go ahead though, I won't stop you, nor dislike you. (the way I see it, compared to what the DU'ers have in common, our differences are not that much)

70. as much as I truly, deeply LOATHE this creature, I find this thread,
while amusing, very disturbing, because the FIRST reaction I had was that it sounds like the sort of thing that is very very regularly posted at the site that bears no mention here

I'm disappointed at the small number of posts here that sound the same bell, too

I even have personal contact with her (several minutes on a radio call in show) which served to inflame my intense feelings of loathing toward her, and while I'd like nothing better than to see her spend a long time rotting in a padded cell, I won't be celebrating her actual physical demise

seeing her prolonged public humiliation (a virulent harridan, aging before our eyes, losing her public appeal as her "looks" deterioriate apace with her mental faculties?), followed by much-deserved anonymity would be much more satisfying

but let's quit with the celebrating her death stuff

very unbecoming

74. No.
I won't celebrate, but I'll have no sadness for that worthless, pathetic skank. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

77. Personally, I'll miss her.
What will we do for comic relief?

Having said that, I will laugh like a tickled clown on nitrous oxide.

We also need to know where she gets buried, so we can all make a pilgrimage to piss on her grave.

78. what would it be celebrating?
Coulter's physical death would just open the door for another primitive twisted human to take her place.

83. I will refrain from any public reaction whatsoever.
I can't imagine celebrating anyone's death, but that's just my opinion.
