Dear Gov Dean: Do not apologize. Do not defend. Attack, attack, attack!
Governor Dean:

Do not apologize. Do not defend. Attack, attack, attack!

Katherine Harris is demanding an apology from you for your statement referring to her unethical role in the 2000 Florida recount.

You said This is not Russia and she is not Stalin.

Do not apologize - she will only use you as a flotation device for her drowning campaign.

Do not defend - it is of no use - she will take you down with her.

Attack, attack, attack

She and the Republicans stole the election in 2000.

It is because of her and the administration she helped bring into power, that we are in the mess we are in.

She is a LOSER and everyone knows it.

She should apologize for her role in denying voters their basic, fundamental rights in Florida by striking those entitled to legally vote from the roles and for not counting the votes of those that did.

You owe her NOTHING!

17. There were several elements in the 2000 election that contributed
to the final outcome. Each one alone would have been enough to decide the outcome. Mrs. Harris's duplicity was most definitely one of those key elements. In that sense, she, as much as any one person, was responsible for Bush's being put into the WH.

14. Dean attacks Harris....a joke of a politician.
Maybe now he'll get his courage up and can go call Cheney and Rove some names....maybe even *. Now that's who deserves to be called Stalin...both have lots of blood on their hands.

I'm sorry...but to finally get the nerve to do some name-calling and you use it on Katherine Harris....a complete caricature? It looks as if he's scared to call the big boys names.

I guess she's a safe target...no one is going to defend her unless they want to make Dean look foolish. Oh well.

"I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for..."
-- Howard Dean

"The truth is the President of the United States used the same device
that Slobodan Milosevic used in Serbia. When you appeal to homophobia,
when you appeal to sexism, when you appeal to racism, that is extraordinarily
damaging to the country."
-- Howard Dean

"...The capture of Saddam has not made America safer."
-- Howard Dean

Iraq: Bush lied about al Qaeda, about nukes, and about WMDs

I supported the first war in Iraq because one of our allies was invaded,
and we had a responsibility to defend them.
I supported the war in Afghanistan; 3,000 of our people were murdered.
I thought we had a right to defend the US.
But in the case of Iraq,' the president told us that Al Qaida and Saddam Hussein
were about to make a deal.
The president told us that Iraq was buying uranium from Africa. That wasn't true.
They told us that the Iraqis were about to get atomic weapons. That turned out not
to be true. They told us they knew exactly where the weapons of mass destruction were,
right around Tikrit and Baghdad. That turned out to be false as well.

As commander in chief of the US military, I will never hesitate to send troops anywhere
in the world to defend the US. But I will never send our sons and daughters to a foreign
country in harm's way without telling the truth to the American people about why they're
going there. And that judgment needs to be made first, not afterwards.

Government of, by, and for the special interests

Another reason our democracy is having a difficult time right now is
because of the influence of money in our political process.
People watch the process from afar, and they see the special tax breaks
& loopholes that special interests are able to obtain
Our founders feared that economic power would one day seize political power.
Frankly, that fear has been realized with the Bush administration.
The largest corporations and wealthiest individuals benefit from tax cuts
that are bankrupting the states. They reward the largest political contributors
at the expense of today's middle class, whose property taxes are skyrocketing.

Meanwhile, the oil companies write our energy policy, big pharmaceutical companies
draft Medicare reform; and Halliburton is awarded no-bid contracts in Iraq.
It is a government of, by, and for the special interests. The only way the American
people are included in the process is that we are left to pay the bills.

26. I am quite familiar with Dean's quotes.
I have been following his career at the DNC very closely.

But I'm sorry....comparing someone to Stalin (this man was as bad as Hitler) and that someone isn't a major player....it looks cowardly to me. Looks like he is picking on someone not his size. Now if that name-calling were directed at one of the PNACers...I'd be happy. But Harris? Cheney is Stalin reincarnate.

Just how many people did Stalin have murdered?

31. Ken Blackwell, current Sec'y of State of Ohio and running
for Governor, decided the Presidential Election of '04. When Dean visited Ohio, he had a great opportunity to attack him. No insults were forthcoming. Blackwell is of the same clothe as Ashcroft...a religious wingnut. In fact, he believes that the fetus is more important than a woman's life. He offers NO exclusion for abortion even if the mother's life is in danger. If anyone deserves a bit of name-calling, I would say Blackwell is worthy.

Why couldn't Dean attack Blackwell? Because Blackwell is black and Dean would be deemed a racist?

All I am saying is that I have witnessed this phenomenon all my life....men calling women names they would never call another man. That's all. And I think it makes the man look small....but of course that's from my eyes. Given our culture is patriarchial, I'm in the minority. John Lennon said it best: Woman is the nigger of the world.

Maybe Dean will display a bit of 'Equality in Insults' in the future and attack the PNACers and Blackwell with the same intensity he did Harris.

And to be frank, Senator Nelson of FL deserves a few insults as well....how many times has he joined with the pugs? Is he scared, bribed, or being threatened? Of course, he is only one of many. Just what part of being a Democrat doesn't he understand?

Now come on...we all know Dean never said anything bad about Bush or Cheney. He never said anything critical of fellow democrats.

He is very afraid of his shadow and never speaks out on anything.

You don't seem to be aware of the allusion to Stalin that involved counting the votes.

33. Very aware....I quote it often.
You know we've had stolen presidential elections since 2000 (and probably before)....and now finally the Dem Chair of the DNC ALLUDES to it with a name-calling attack on Harris....a joke in of herself.

Please.... DUers have been complaining for years as to the lack of comment and publicity by the Dem Party on stolen elections. Very few Dems have stood up on this topic....Conyers, Jones-Tubb, Boxer (briefly) and some others...but really nothing. It has been the blogs like Brad's Blog that have kept this issue on the forefront...not Howard Dean. And now he gets his nerve up and attacks Harris...big f*cking whoop. Go attack Rove....and the others who were behind this theft.

It's now 2006...so will he compare Blackwell to Stalin in another 4 years when Blackwell decides to step down as the Governor of Ohio (I hope this is not the case) and run for US Senate. Gee, can't wait.

Maybe this is a trial to find the Dem's fighting spirit? They'll start by getting nasty with Harris and then as they gather their courage and go after the big boys. I will not hold my breathe.

I really don't want to fight with you...I do believe we are on the same side. I simply wanted to point out that Dean (and most all Dems) sure have taken their time with attacking on stolen elections and that this attack looked rather pitiful in my eyes. Dean is obviously someone you admire. I was glad to see him become head of the DNC...but he certainly isn't perfect. And it's dangerous to put politicians on pedestals.

Go take that gift for satire and use it on some Pugs, OK? It is wasted on me.

I am glad I made you laugh...good luck to you in Florida.

23. He should up the ante -- Call the GOP the Stalinist Party!
That's how you move the discussion.

You get them to keep repeating "Republicans are not Stalinist" so many times that the "not" gets lost in the echo chamber.

And all the while you get to keep repeating to pertinent quote**.

That's why being on the defensive all the time is so damaging.

As for Harris, he could also remind people that the FL. Sup. Court also ruled that she acted "contrary to law," in a case that was never overturned on appeal.

Bill Nelson and Harry Reid have agreed to the offshore drilling for whatever reasons. They are going along to supposedly get a "better deal".

Bill Nelson has a meet and greet event scheduled in Orlando tomorrow which is Democratic Reunion day. He probably doesn't even know about it, as our state party doesn't even have it on their website.

I posted about the oil drilling, but it is not getting near the attention Dean is for speaking about Harris.
